Part 76: Paralogue 12: Disowned by Time (Morgan) - Battle

Paralogue 12 Battle

Gregor, Nowi, Olivia, and Frederick will join the party as guests.

Promotions: Cordelia, Donny, Tharja, Cherche

Cherche promotes to Wyvern Lord, gaining good defense and strength. She also can wield lances now, so she gets dibs on the abandoned Pitchfork.

Tharja gains...extra movement I guess. She still has single digit skill which is horrible.

Cordelia and Donny promote to Hero, gaining Axes and some pretty good bonuses. However, this map is by far the hardest the Shepherds have encountered as Donny and Cordy can't really handle the map without some good help.

Let's beat some Risen.

Think, Morgan, think! How would Mom handle this?

This is oddly a Kill Commander map, so potentially this map can be ended fairly quickly for speed runners I guess.

First thing first is to Rescue Morgan because he is so not going to live against that nearby Sage and Swordmaster.

Lucina will join with her father, while Robin talks to her new son.

There you are, Mother? I was beginning to think we got separated.

...I'm sorry, what?

Well, no harm done. At least we can head home now. ...Goodness, the air here agrees with you! You look a decade younger, at least.

Wait. Let's go back to the "Mother" thing. ...Did you travel back from the future with Lucina?

Huh? Who's Lucina? And did you seriously just ask me if I came from the future?

...Why are you looking at me like that? Hello? It's me! Morgan! ...Your son? Love of your life and strapping young lad and all that? Wow, you're really acting strange today. Let's go home and get you to bed.

Hmm, but which way is home? Is it-Ngh! M-my head!

Easy-don't try to force it! Just stay calm and listen to me.

I know this sounds mad, but I believe that you came here from the future.

Actually, it is.

Think about it. You said I looked younger, but look again. Closely. Do I look like I'm of age where I could have a child as old as you?

At this point in time, in OUR time, you still haven't been born.

Y-you look younger, but...

It's hard, I know. And you don't have to believe right this minute. But you must come with me. It's dangerous alone, especially if your memory is gone. I was in the same position once, you know. If Chrom hadn't found me lying in that field, who knows what would've happened to me...

Wait, you woke up in the middle of a field, too? Hah! Like mother, like son, huh? Oh, that's too funny!

...Glad to see you inherited my blithe outlook. Just try to stay close, will you?

Yes, ma'am!

If Chrom recruited him as the father

Mmm? Who are you?

I would ask you the same. More importantly, why are you here? This is hardly a safe place to be wandering alone.

I... I don’t know, frankly. I woke up...sprawled in a field. I can’t recall anything before that.

This sounds familiar.

I... I think I remember my name? ...Morgan? Yes, that’s it. My name is Morgan.

I’m Chrom. And finding amnesiacs is apparently my special talent. I met someone very dear to me in the same way. Her name is Robin.

Robin?! Is this friend of yours perchance a tactician?

She is. Do you know her?

Yes, I know her! She’s my mother!

Mother?! Then you’re our... You’re my...

Morgan, stay calm and listen to me. Robin is my wife. Which means you’re likely my son who came here from the future.

...What?! But I... The future?! Is... Is that why I have no memory? But wait, I remember my mother. So why don’t I remember you?

I don’t know. Do you recall a sister named Lucina?

No, nothing like that.

I suppose it’s a blessing you at least remember your mother. Maybe something will come back once you’ve met with her and Lucina. Until then, you’d best come with me. ...And stay close. I don’t want you hurt.

All right, thank you. And don’t worry—I can defend myself. You just lead the way.

Morgan comes with Elfire and a Steel Sword, along with Rightful King and Ignis inherited from his parents. Stat-wise, his bases are pretty good.

Robin supports her son after the pep talk and then Morgan sets his sights on the nearest Myrmidon.

Lucina cleans up for her little brother. I always found it interesting that Lucy stabs her sword like a Rapier, completely opposite of how Chrom handles a sword.

Nowi joins with her A buddy Gregor, gets boosted by Olivia, and moves ahead to block the gap.

Donny rides with Fred as they travel to the chest on the right.

Cordelia and Cherche fly over near the Swordmaster and wait without attacking.

Henry gains some WEXP and the turn ends for us.

The Thief steals a Bullion M from the chest

Cordelia gets a heavy hit, and you've seen her stats. These Risens are not messing around.

The Swordmaster also takes a blade to Cordy, though at least she gets to counterattack.

Nowi weathers a couple Mages as the enemies group around the gap, along with some flying enemies coming to pincer the team.

The two Heroes clean up the southeast area.

Morgan finishes off a weakened Mage for his first level.

Mmm, not bad.

Nowi chips this monster Risen for safe damage. I mean look at this thing! It could probably take on Chrom one-on-one.

Lucina activates Aether just because, and gains a level out of it. Good thing about Aether is that the healing comes first, so it can get free heals off killing blows.

Good level. She wouldn't even mind some magic for Ignis, unlike Chrom randomly getting it.

Lissa rescues Lucina from the middle of Risen, then Tharja supports Henry for some defensive stacking.

Nowi weakens a few more Risen before the Wyvern Rider targets Morgan.

You're turning out to be a great son already.

Morgan manages to flame-broil a mage before it goes back to us.

Cherche teaches the Thief not to be so naughty.

Uh...

Anyways...Lucy takes care of a Wyvern Rider. Olivia invigorates Morgan and gains every stat except defense for her efforts.

Alright, let's try again my boy!

Well, there's no mistake you're Robin's child...

Henry crits a Risen for fun and just laughs at its demise.

Just keeps laughing and laughing.

Lissa gains a below-average level after healing a bunch. Nowi walks ahead to bait out as many of the enemies up ahead.

Another Thief on the map steals a Fortify Staff, which is an A rank Staff that heals all allies within Mag/2 range. 5 uses.

Nowi chips an oncoming Myrmidon and gains everything but magic and speed.

The Sage did a much better job harming Nowi, though it doesn't have enough speed to be a real threat.

A lot of enemies, including a high stat Griffin Rider, plan to gang up on the team.

GAIN SOME MAGIC, DAMNIT

Risky as hell, and I was rewarded with irony.

Nowi chips the Griffin Rider. Frederick flies back to the team, gets a dance from Olivia, then gets teleported by Lissa.

Fred flies to the Griffin and switches the lead to Donny, taking out one of the more dangerous enemies on the map.

More Risen spawn from the stairs. Donny takes out a Mage that got too close to him.

Henry handles himself against a Wyvern Lord that axes his face.

Cherche gains some EXP from the other Event Tile.

Lucy one-shots another Wyvern Rider with overkill upon overkill, activating Ignis and then a crit after that.

Chrom's daughter? Wouldn't have known if you told me.

Henry and Gregor clean up some scraps.

Frederick gets himself one of the few safe kills.

Tharja places herself to bait out the further north enemies. More Risen spawn from the stairs.

Tharja gets hit by a Myrmidon but Nosferatu keeps her healthy. Its comrades blitz towards us, with 3 fliers on the right moving in to get a sneak attack.

Frederick wields Hector's mighty Axe to take Fortify from the Thief's cold hands.

Oh god Fred, you need a promotion like yesterday.

Lucy gets another great level from wiping out a Myrmidon.

Henry chips a Myrmidon for fun, then Nowi takes up barricade duties again after downing an Elixir.

Morgan fries more Risen.

Olivia dances for Team Cherche to let them stand in the line of fire for the multiple fliers coming.

A jerk Griffin Rider spawns from the lower stairs, just barely out of range to kill Olivia.

Henry chips an attacking Mage to gain a good level for him.

Stop trying to kill Nowi. More as mercy for your own team.

Yeesh, probably would've been dead without Robin's speed boost.

Hooray, magic! Took you 6 levels to gain 2, but eh whatcha gonna do.

Now this Risen can take on Nowi. He still lives after a Gregor Dual Attack which is impressive.

Cherche takes on two fliers from the pack, with one defeated thanks to Cordy's help.

Robin has mastered the line between angering me and making me proud.

The Ylisse family decide to go on some skeet shooting with the Risen.

And Cherche finishes off the Griffin Rider.

Okay I know luck and resistance are your lower stats, but please gain some speed next time.

Plegian Mages need to go to target practice or something.

Donny finishes off their target and gains everything but defense.

Lissa rescues Olivia from certain death, then Nowi takes out the last Swordmaster.

Definitely long overdue. Also gained luck and resistance for good measure.

The Shepherds get some counterattacks going.

Gregor gets a level I guess. One closer to promotion, more importantly.

And Frederick finishes off the last mook on the map.

Lissa gets an excellent level after some healing done. She might actually hit 20 magic!

Olivia gets another level, gaining everything but magic and strength.

Some turns later, Cherche gets attacked by the boss from long range.

Cherche, this trademark of yours isn't funny anymore. I think she's missed more than the rest of the team combined in this LP.

Lucy gets a spare chest key from her dad and gets a Second Seal.

Morgan gets some mojo going and takes out the boss with help from Robin.

You've had mixed reviews, but 7 levels in one mission is impressive no matter how you slice it.

The Chief dropped a Goddess Icon.

I can feel the power coursing through it.

Sweet! This baby should keep us safe in the battles to come.

I hope you're right about that, Sis.

Naga's Tear permanently raises all stats by 2 and HP by 5. We got a stack of stat boosters that we need to distribute soon.

*A conversation later with Morgan getting an explanation*

That's...a lot to take in.

It's everything we know about the situation at this point.

The future I came from is in ruins... You're sure about that?

One possible future is in ruins, yes. But you may hail from another path.

We're fighting now to ensure that no one's future is lost. Unfortunately, if you join us, it'll mean more fighting for you, too.

I understand... I'm sorry, but even after hearing all that, I still don't remember anything but you.

Don't apologize. We'll pull your memory back bit by bit if we have to.

Besides, if you start apologizing, I'll have to as well. My past is still full of holes, but I'm getting along. And you will too.

As long as you're with me, the rest will work itself out.

Now, come on. We've got a future that needs saving!

Hah! You really do take after me.

You know, now that you mention is... There is one other thing I remember.

What's that?

I've always strived to become a great tactician like you.

And even though this war is terrible, at least now I can learn from you firsthand.

Well, you're nothing if not optimistic...

Wherever or whenever you came from, I'm glad you made it here, Morgan.

Me too!

Official Bio: Robin's future son. An upbeat boy who remembers little about the future-not even which future he came from. He wants to be a tactician like his mother. The most shamelessly self-driven.
