Part 19: Mission #18: A Big Battle in a Little Room

Okay, I don't like to double-post, but my access to the internet is limited, and I wanted to finish off Dagat Ahas, as well as the first generation of user wanzers. Incidentally, even though I haven't even debuted the new wanzers yet, we're already coming up on another submission window. I'd put it off, but I want make sure they you have as much time as possible so that I have enough designs.

Mission #18: A Big Battle in a Little Room

All that's left to do now if blow the engines and get the hell out of Dodge-at Ahas. It was funny in my head.

: What, we're not at the engine room yet!?
: Use that elevator to go up. The engine room's inside.
: Destroy that, and we'll immobilize this fortress.
: We have to capture it first. Then set the explosives to destroy it.
: I knew, even though I didn't say anything! Let's go, Pierre!
No, I don't know why the developers at Square hated the Philippines so much that two of the most odious characters in the game are Filipino, but it's clear that the animus exists.
: Yes, my lady!

Yep, there's nothing safer than a pitched wanzer battle in an engine room!

Another map with an elevator...and this one only carries one wanzer at a time. Damn it all.

I really don't like snipers, if only because there's an off chance that they can stun or force-eject your pilots and will always attack before you.

No matter what qualms I may have about the Good Friday's durability, it still hits like a fucking tank.

And Pierre steals my kill, and not only that...

He ensconces himself on the elevator, and he's not going to move. Fine, if Pierre wants to soften up the enemy that bad, I'll let him.

Pierre isn't a terrible pilot, and his wanzer is okay, but the real issue is that he's an ally NPC in a strategy game, and that's always a pain in the ass.

That said, he doesn't have a shield, and every remaining enemy in the battle targets him, so he eventually just runs out of HP, and that's the end of that.

The next turn, Pham and the Good Friday get sent up, and, in this screenshot, you can see both the biggest strength and weakness at the same time. Pham hits for a ton of damage, but look at how much damage her body took just from a machine gun. That's not really sustainable. The Good Friday is like a Faberge Egg covered in spikes.

It's a pretty short fight, as there aren't many wanzers on either side, with the elevator being the only real obstacle.

Not bad at all. Pham gets MVP.

: Explosives in place.
: Do you read me, Liu!?
: Kazuki, what's wrong?
: We're done here, so we're pulling out!
: Roger! Kazuki, looks like things went well with you...
: Yes, they did well.
: We're ready here, too. Pull out!
: What, are you just going to ignore me!? Wait! Let's go, Pierre!
Shut up, Pham.
: Yes, my lady!

Next Time: GOOOOOOOOO-Failer!
