Chapter 14 - Love Will Find A Way
Welcome back, previously, last time, on Let's Play Silent Hill 4, Henry is dumb, etcetera etcetera.

At the bottom of the mysterious staircase, we find an even more mysterious elevator.

It turns out that the forest near Silent Hill was, in fact, located in outer space. Makes sense.

So this is what it must be like to be a pinball.

The elevator stops at the bottom, which in this case is the top of a really high tower in the middle of a sea.

: "How are you doing, Henry? Ready to die?"
: "Fuck off man, I don't need this."
: "Come on, Henry, there's no need to be rude."
: "What the hell are you talking about? This guy is chasing us down with the intent of killing us, sorry if I'm not too excited to see him."
: "Well, you could at least respect his feelings."
: "I'll start respecting his feelings when he starts respecting my health."
: "Look, just...I...I'm sorry Walter...about Henry..."
: "That's okay...thanks."
: "..."
: "..."
: "..."
: "..."
: "Umm, you guys? Walter? How about that chase, huh?"
: "Oh yeah, you're right...errr...HOW ARE YOU GOING HENRY? READY TO DIE?!"

: "You are such a jerk sometimes, Henry."
: "Shut up and run, Miss Too Good To Climb Ladders."
: "I'm going to KILL YOU ALL, I guess!"

: "I think we lost him."
: "Don't be so hard on him, he's just a bit...confused."
: "Sure, you go back to explain everything to him, I'll wait here."
: "Maybe I will."
: "..."

: "What about those Double Heads, huh? Are they somewhat confused too?"
: "No, they're freaks of nature that must be exterminated as soon as possible."
: "Thank you."
: "They do seem a bit lonely though..."
: "Yeah, why don't you join them, there's plenty of room on the floor."

: "Right, this is how it works, we have to jump through this hole to get to the next area."
: "Are you sure?"
: "Yeah, sure, I've done it half a dozen times and I'm perfectly fine, right?"
: "Riiight. Henry, don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not feeling very suicidal today. I think I'll stay here."

: "Stupid spoiled brat, too good to jump into a pitch black hole, huh? I bet Walter wouldn't have the balls to jump into a hole."

We jump through the hole two more times, after which we're back in the kitchen. In front of us is the door to the room where we found Andrew.

Washing dishes must've been a real chore in this prison.

We can't read it, but Henry suggests that we put it in colored liquid, so I guess we'll try that, later on.

At the top of the voyeur room in the center of the prison, we find a new weapon for Eileen. She still won't become part of the armed forces, though.

Right, let's head back to the apartment real quick, see how my front door is doing.

Status: Still locked, still lacking a mail slot.
I'm going to summarize everything that I've learned about Walter Sullivan so far.
He was born right here in Room 302 of "South Ashfield Heights." His parents abandoned him soon afterwards and disappeared somewhere, leaving the baby alone. He was discovered and sent to St. Jerome's Hospital. He was "adopted" by "Wish House," an orphanage in the forest near Silent Hill that's run by the secret Silent Hill religious cult. When he was six years old, someone from the cult showed him where he was born. Since then, he started to believe that Room 302 itself -- in other words, this room -- was his mother. Every week, he traveled from the orphanage to South Ashfield Heights, a pretty long trip for a kid his age. Sometimes he took the subway, and sometimes the bus.
----------------------------------------
I'm tired. My headache is already killing me. I'll write more tomorrow.
July 28
At point Joe gives a pretty good plot summary, which saves me the hassle of having to write one myself.

In the rare case that a message isn't written in blood, you have to soak it in blood to make it visible.

That's great, honey. Now stop writing on clothes and ask the guard for a piece of paper, alright?
Or better yet, don't write down your plans to kill the warden at all.

On the second floor, we find the bed of the kid who wrote the message (probably Walter), and wouldn't you know it, there's a Sword of Obedience underneath it.

We head back to the third floor to collect that silly non-suicidal girl.

: "Missed me?"
: "Nope."
: "Missed Walter?"
: "...No.
"
: "Oh, you did not just wink at me."

: "What is 'No' supposed to mean anyway? You didn't see him, or you did see him and...?"
: "Maybe..."
: "Oh, that's just great. Excuse me while I go back to my aprtment to vomit my guts out."

We escape from a potential love triangle by going through the hole. There's another haunting, a ghost will come through the wall. This happens in all four rooms of the apartment, but since the bathroom and the closet are both quite small, it's hard to avoid getting damaged in there, so it's best to exorcise this haunting in the living room or in the bedroom.

You'll notice that I dusted off my pistol and brought a Silver Bullet. That's right, it's time to teach Andrew's ghost a lesson.

Danny DeVito has seen better days.

Before we can show Andy the power of the Silver Bullets, we first need to chop our way through some tentacles.

Now, if you've played the game before, you'll know that Andrew has an attack that can cause quite a lot of damage, a charge attack with a fairly long range. Even if you've never played the game, you'll find that almost every walkthrough warns you about this attack, and tells you that you should be cautious.
Well, here's a screenshot of me being cautious.
Ten seconds later, I was still being cautious, and Andrew was still in the same place.
Twenty seconds later, Andy still hadn't moved, and I was still being cautious.
Then I realized that Andrew was bugged and that he wouldn't attack, so I shot him.

The Silver Bullet instantly knocks the fellow down, and after that you've got plenty of time of stick the Sword into his liver. This is also the only ghost that you have to defeat, because otherwise you won't get the key.

Dear Silent Hill developers, please stop putting dicks in your games. Thank you.

: "Oh, by the way, Henry..."
: "Yeah?"
: "Just in case you somehow got the words 'Love Triangle' in your head..."
: "Well, now that you mention it..."
: "It more like a line, okay?"
: "Okay.
"

On the other side of the door, we run into an army of Double Heads. It's kind of hard to see, and I didn't get a better picture because I was too busy trying to run past them.

The door behind the Double Heads leads to another circular staircase, bringing an end to this rather short second visit to the prison.

The door at the bottom leads to, surprise, the Building World. We're instantly greeted by a cut-scene of Richard's ghost.

It's impossible to see in this screenshot, but Richard's on top of a ledge high above us, and at the end of the scene, he jumps off the ledge.

Before he gets here, let's first read a memo on the ground nearby.
I want to go back to that time...
Things were so good then...
The day of my birthday...
The cute cat in the pet store...
All those balls in the basket...
Playing pool was fun too...
The door of time was wide open...
When I see four things,
I can't help but remember that time...
This is the preface to the most retarded fetch quest ever.

The fight with Richard is disappointingly short. I guess he was armed, and he might have been pretty strong, but I wouldn't know, because as soon as I saw his ugly mug I blasted him with a Silver Bullet and pinned him to the ground with a Sword.

: "Oh yeah, well why don't you marry him?
"

: "Oh look, a ladder. You know what that means, right? That's right, the current time is Abandon Your Ass o'clock."

: "See these things, Eileen? Well, mine is even longer."

Henry's so confused, he hasn't got a cue.

I'd look pretty surprised too if my axe disappeared all of the sudden.

: "Don't make me put on my angry face!"

It's no wonder you turn into a dangerous criminal when you can't even keep your split personalities informed about one another.

: "Or Walter Galvin, if I play my cards right...
"

"Hi, I'm you, let's kill people."

Shut up, your name is Hank Erikson.

: "Like, in ten years or so, when you'll be as crazy as me."

: *laughs evilly*
: *rubs hands*

: "What does she see in him?"
Join us next time, when we continue our raid through the Building World.
Oh, and just in case you were wondering: Guerilla Medic's secret assignment to me was to create a romance between Eileen and Walter, so you've got him to thank for the awkward conversations in this update.
