MS Saga: A New Dawn

Part 9

Now let's see what's down this path.

After that gauntlet, the remaning enemies in this dungeon just aren't threatening anymore.

This is new...

The Mirror Gouf is completely immune to ranged Beam attacks.

A nearby treasure room contained this, as well as some Guncannon data and an ECAP (L).

The Knuckle Guard won't be leaving Katz' side for a VERY long time.

Another battle involving these guys.

This battle was actually a lot tougher than it should be, because the Mega Cannon's managed to get out of synch, and instead of both of them using Mega Fire at the same time, they ended up alternating which made it impossible for me to keep myself covered with Chaff Field.

I won, but it was far bloodier than it should have been.

We eventually reach this area which is totally not a boss arena.

Well shit.

I want this suit.

The Xamel is a piece of cake.

Fritz needs to be out on the frontline and do nothing but build his EN up. Everyone else needs to kill the Dark Guard that are fighting with the Xamel.

When you see that the Xamel is about to use a Boost, USE CHAFF FIELD.

Congratulations, the Xamel is now less threatening than the Gouf we fought a while back.

It's almost sad to see that giant cannon on his back do absolutely nothing.

After you do enough damage, though. This happens. This is the first boss to introduce what I like to call the 'Second Wind.'

WHEN YOU GET THAT SCENE, HIT THE BOSS WITH AS MUCH DAMAGE AS YOU CAN!

The reason that you want to hit the boss as hard as you can, is that the boss will regenerate ALL of his EN, and begin to bombard you with Boost attacks.

The 'Alpha Strike' strategy isn't as important with this boss as it is with later ones, but it's one that can mean the difference between victory and defeat later on.

After beating him, we managed to loot that giant fuck-off cannon of his.

After those parting words, he promptly explodes.

Everyone then gets pumped to go save Eisengrad.

But first...

LOOK AT THIS THING!

IT'S FUCKIN' HUGE!!

I'm gonna let Fritz run around with that thing for a while longer, because why not?

Fuck walking back to Nia Sam Eldar.

Robot Roll Call

RX-75-4 Guntank

First Appearance: Mobile Suit Gundam (0079)

Less of a mobile suit and more of a super tank, the Guntank was initially designed to be a long range support unit for the RX-78-2 Gundam.

RX-77-2 Guncannon

First Appearance: Mobile Suit Gundam (0079)

A step up from the Guntank, the Guncannon was designed to be a mid-range support unit for the Gundam. It could also use beam rifles similar to the Gundam.

YMS-16M Xamel

First Appearance: Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory

While the Xamel is a heavy artillery unit, it also had a hovercraft system similar to the Dom which gave it a surprising amount of speed for a mobile suit of it's size.
