MS Saga: A New Dawn

by Tobias Grant

Part 13

Once outside, Vargas gives us a hot tip.

The Gaw then takes us back to the Pirate Base.

Outside, Fritz tries to tell us something, but decides against it for some reason.

Sleepy time!

The next morning, something terriblemildly worrying happens! Fritz is gone!

Well balls.

Well, it's his loss.

Fritz' Guncannon now belongs to Aeon, and the Zaku Kai becomes spare parts.

the GM Sniper gets a few upgrades.

Before we head off to Tohai, we need to make a quick stop back to Eisengrad.

Hello there.

Give me all of the Gelgoog and Hizack data that I can carry!

Lovely. The Gelgoog goes to Gavenger, while the Hizack goes to Tremmie. the Dom and GM Frankenstein become spare parts.

A cool thing about the Hizack is that it comes with a free Extra Wing.

Of course, those spikes are going to have to go.

Mwahahaha!

Now we're ready to go!

Before we go to Tohai, though, we want to go West just a little bit.

Much like the Heat and Acid Barrier, this completely protects a unit from the effects of Short Circuit. Short Circuit is a much worse version of Overheat in that it prevents a unit from doing ANYTHING instead of just attacking.

NOW we can go to Tohai.

Vargas goes off to be perverted while we look around.

Tohai has a lot of stuff for sale. Almost as much as there was in the Pirate Base.

I made a quick stop over to the Mini-G Stystem in town to make two of these. I don't intend to use them just yet, though. I did this mostly just to make room for more ECAP (S)'s.

Before we go around looting the place, might as well get this over with.

Lady, with an outfit like that, just looking in your general direction could be considered peeping.

She then decides to kick Vargas' ass.

Vargas is the best

With that done, let's move on.

Vargas tries to make a deal with Mr. Kerfuffle.

Naturally, Mr. Kringle refuses.

"He wanted to know what some random people with giant robots who wanted to see him specifically were up to. That means he's suspicious!"

Now we've got to ask around town.

There's some treasure hidden behind these statues. The other statue had a Hacking Tool.

Haha! Screw your privacy!

All that was in there was 3000 credits.

Randomly wandering into Tremmie will cause a cutscene.

Apparently someone in the Dark Alliance is impersonating her brother.

I WONDER WHO IT COULD BE?

This kid knows what's up.

Thanks, random orphan.

There are two weapon shops in Tohai. This one carries the ranged weapons, as well as some parts.

Some very, VERY nice parts.

First, the weapons.

Purchased:
4 Gatling Shields (60 ATK, 1 EN, 16 AMR, -10 SPD)
4 Arm Gatlings (70 ATK, 1 EN)
4 Long Cannons (160 ATK, 4 EN)
5 Bullpup Machine Guns (58 ATK, 1 EN)
3 Long Rifles (135 ATK, 3 EN)
5 Beam Rifles (95 ATK, 2 EN)

The other dude sells parts.

BUY DOWADGE THRUSTERS!! I cannot stress this enough! They are one of the best bits of shoulder armor in the game.

I bought 6 of both types of Dowadge Thruster.

Walking into Aeon triggers another cutscene.

Katz digs crazy chicks.

The Item Shop. The only thing of note here is that it sells Repair Kit DX's, which heal for 500 HP.

Here's the weapon shop that deals with melee weapons and shields.

Purchased:
3 Gelgoog Shields (30 AMR, -20 SPD)
3 Beam Javalins (105 ATK, 8 AMR, 1 EN)

The Large Heat Hawk carries the same disadvantages as the other axes. Large size, high EN cost. The LHH does have the ability to use Spear abilities as an Axe, though. I would have gotten one but I just can't forgive the 2 EN cost.

Dowadge Thrusters for everyone! (Except Katz)

Katz sticks with what works.

Tremmie's loadout attempts to make the best use out of her Double Arms Boost.

I might end up switching out the Long Rifle if it turns out that it can't be used for Snipe Boosts.

The Gelgoog doesn't give me much room to work with, unfortunately.

Aeon's got her shootin' gun, her snipin' gun, and her Mega Fire gun. She's good.
