MS Saga: A New Dawn

by Tobias Grant

Part 28

This place is a bit of a pain in the ass to navigate. You'll see why soon.

First we've gotta beat this guy into a pulp.

The Zarth Guard has quite a bit of HP, but other than that there's not much to him.

The random encounters around here are a joke, although there is one exception...

OH GOD WHAT? WHERE DID HE COME FROM!?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Meet the Kamikaze Raven. He is your worst nightmare. He will ALWAYS start off with a Hyper Charge that will one shot anybody he hits, so if he manages to surprise your group, than you might as well kiss one of your units goodbye. His speed is insane as well, so he'll always go before you can unless you use boosts like Speed Lancer or Lightning Lancer. Which you should.

Thankfully, he's fragile and will usually go down in a single hit.

there's some nice treasure over here.

Out of my way.

the treasure chest contains a neat new beam gun, as well as a Hacking Tool and a Regeneration Kit DX.

Aeon gets the new gun.

And here is what makes this dungeon a pain in the ass. Almost every one of the doors are locked, so you have to find the one door that isn't in order to proceed.

Holy shit! I never thought I'd see another Guntank at this point in the game!

Of course, they don't last very long. But still, it's nice to see that they're not all gone.

The way to proceed in this room is behind the yellow encounter there, but we don't want to go through those doors just yet.

First, there's some treasure in this room. the other chest has a High Armor Kit, as well as a somewhat hidden chest with a Repair Kit SP in it.

Behind this yellow encounter is a door that leads outside to some nice loot.

Fuck yes.

This goes straight to Katz. Tremmie gets his old Zeta Saber.

This dungeon isn't really big, it's just a pain to get around in.

Welp.

You can probably guess how this battle turned out.

After a bit more exploration, I've got most of this place mapped out and unlocked. just need to return to the western-most room and head south.

To proceed, we need to head south, but there's a side room past this door with even more treasure.

Speaking of treasure, there is a restorative drink and a regeneration kit in here.

There's some Bawoo Data here in case you didn't want to sequence break. the other chest held 8 Zaku III Data.

the other side contained an ECAP (S) as well as a Repair Unit DX.

Down through this passage is a shield.

It's a somewhat decent shield, but I was never really a big fan of shields.

Right, time to get back onto the main path.

The Zarth Guard II is a pretty tough dude. he's got a respectable amount of HP and his Boost attacks can hit pretty hard.

Of course, by this point the only thing that really gives me trouble are the Kamikaze Ravens, and even they aren't that big a problem.

Also this guy gets to live for some reason.

Some guarded treasure. Inside was an EN Max and a Beam Pistol.

The Beam Pistol goes to Rezner because I can't really think of anyone else to give it to.

And that's about it for this place.

I took this opportunity to escape and resupply. Next time, we take down Hal Vizardt AKA Vladi Zarth AKA Casval Rem Deikun AKA Char Aznable!
