MS Saga: A New Dawn

Part 37

Right, let's get this over with.

As was the case with our first visit here, we have to go through a gauntlet of bosses in order to get whatever treasure is at the end. Last time, we fought through Kai versions of the four Mobile Armors.

This time?

Red versions of the Four Heavenly Kings!

Raven Red is easily the hardest of all of the fights here.

You can still Counter Snipe his Gatling Kick, but as before, that isn't the attack to be worried about.

Raven Tornado...

...And Wild Fire are the Boosts to be worried about. And since there's two of them, be prepared to take some very heavy damage.

Debuff them as soon as you can.

Still, while the two of them can deal a massive amount of damage together...

...just take one of them down, and the fight is essentially over.

I don't know if it's because of all the preparation I did before coming here, but this fight was a lot easier than I remember it being.

I'm pretty sure Full Repair All is to blame for that. Not that I'm complaining since this fight will murder you if you go in unprepared.

Kaboom.

After that fight, Vargas learned Intercept Snipe. Now he can stop both melee and ranged attacks. Unfortunately, Intercept Snipe costs 9 EN, so it's very expensive.

Next up are the Walter Reds. compared to the Raven Reds, these guys are a complete pushover.

Pretty much all of their Boosts are Melee, so Counter Snipe comes in real handy.

Still, best to debuff them as soon as you can.

Kablam.

After the fight, Katz learned Fin Funnel, which are the strongest type of funnels in the game that can be learned. He's never going to use them, since Full Repair All is a much better use for his limited TP, but having them makes him a little more versatility, which is never a bad thing.

Next up are the Grand Reds. I actually had a little trouble with this fight, mostly because I had underestimated them.

They can use a ranged attack that can hit the entire party for some decent damage.

The Grand Cannon can be countered with Intercept Snipe.I think Chaff Field works too, but I didn't test it for myself.

They can also use the Grand Press, which targets a single unit and can debuff their armor. This can be countered with Counter Snipe.

Grand Thunder is an extremely powerful melee boost. I'm not completely sure, but I think it can be stopped with Counter Snipe.

As long as you keep your HP up and are careful of his Grand Cannon attack, you'll be fine.

The last fight, what could it be against?

Two normal Devil Gundams.

Yeah, this is another gimmick battle. However, the gimmick can be rather nasty if you don't see it coming. the first thing they do is buff each other up, but the Devil Gundams are rather weak, so you don't have to worry about that too much.

No, you don't have to worry about the gimmick unless you kill one of the Devil Gundams, that's when the countdown begins.

Remember how one of the Devil Gundam's three theoretical abilities is the ability to self-recover? If you leave the other Devil Gundam alive long enough, it will revive the fallen DG back to full health.

You're given about a single turn before he revives his partner. One way around this is to divide up your damage between the two of them.

I didn't bother with none of that, though. I just brute forced my way through the fight and blasted through the second DG before he could revive his partner.

Our reward for beating the second trial is an ECAP (L), 3 ECAP (S), 2 Mobility Upgrade Kits, 2 Armor Upgrade Kits, 10,000 Credits...

And the motherfucking Altron Gundam!

Aw yeah.

You know who would love to have this thing?

Hey Li Fang, how would you like to get off the bench for a while?

The Altron is a pretty powerful Melee machine, but you know, I think I can improve it...

Perfect.

If you really wanted to, you could give the Altron a Burning Arm. the melee difference is almost negligible, and Li Fang would get better mileage out of the Burning Arm since it has a built in melee weapon.

But that's not nearly as fun as giving her two motherfucking drill arms.

I am going to have some fun with this machine.

All that's left now is the Space Ship data and get to go to the moon!

Damn, I wish that the Turn A or Gundam X was in this game
