Part 3: Marky Mark Video 1: Good Vibrations

Marky Mark Video 1: Good Vibrations

Before he was a serious actor, Mark Wahlberg was making the charts as a totally bland hip-hop artist. As I discovered by having to listen to his music over an over recently, he made regular shoutouts to his brother and former New Kid on the Block, Donnie D. But I digress.

Instead of Boyd Packer and his wacky studio antics, we're stuck with a couple of siblings who totally fucking love Marky Mark. I don't know if they have names, and I'm not going to go to the trouble of looking it up. From here on out, they will be known as Boy and Girl. Boy and Girl want to make a Marky Mark video, but disagree on how to make it. So like any normal person would do, they go out and ask a bunch of strangers for help.

Let's meet our potential video requesters.

First, there's some boxer, who is Boy's top pick for help on Marky Mark because... Uh... Hey, who's up next?

Girl's next pick are whoever she can find in the girl's washroom at Generic Public Middle School. The one on the left is totally stuffing her bra.

As a contrast to the girls, there are the guys. Who we don't actually get to see at the moment. Mysterious

And finally, you can leave it up to their parents. Man and Woman watch VH1 a lot, so they know a thing or two about what the kids are doing these days.

I trust Mom and Dad to tell us what video to use and just how to edit it. They want to see Good Vibrations, and Mom wants to see Mark's hunky washboard abs as much as possible. Because Dad is a fat, impotent slob and she can't be satisfied by him in bed anymore. Also, Dad doesn't want to see any traffic because it distracts him from the thought-provoking lyrics.

As you can see, although the theme, host and video selection has changed, the core "gameplay" remains the same. And I cry, and cry, and cry.

I apparently didn't do very well. They gave me a stern talking to, and threatened to call my father. Man, Will Smith was right; parents just don't understand.
