Part 128: BEFORE TELEPORTS.

Update 74

Well, there it is. Time to fight the last repeat boss from DDS1 (Angel was already dealt with, since she gave Seraph Reincarnate.)

It's Beck! (Youtube)
Also known as Varin Omega (Veoh)
Without his signature move, though (Viddler)

Mainly, he has a shitload of HP now.

No, he isn't. He couldn't, in any case, where would he go? He is in the heart of the sun.

Ravana's outer shell still looks silly to me.

And he has a rather high defense stat. That is without a Mind Charge and regular stats.

A Youtube comment mentioned that he looks like a hugs monster. I must say, I agree with that. It wants a hug so bad.

WITH a Mind Charge.

Fortunately, the party has a veritable cornucopia of awesome magic attacks. Physical, shmisical. That is why Heat sucks.

While Ravana lacks his most annoying attack (Hunger Wave), it still has the second most dangerous skill in its previous repertory. Especially since Argilla is there.

Doesn't seem THAT bad, does it? The problem is, he does it when he uses Rage. That gets coupled with other nasty attacks.

Like so.

And this just forces one to waste a turn or two. Or Mind Charge for the next one. Better that way.

Pyriphlegeton is CONSIDERABLY more damaging than anything else.

But at the end, it is Reincarnate. Beck is dead. Again.

"Zio
Void Elec"

Not even needing any sort of meditation this time.

That will soon be sold. Probably more money than the Manjusaka.

I don't get it, the plants were used in Earth, but on the Sun, why would the shopkeeper want plants?
On the other hand, why did the shopkeeper get to keep all his gear? Bah.

"Megido
Mind Charge"

Cielo gets a new mantra thing. That is going to last for a while. Probably could've got something cheaper, but eh, that was the closest one to the previous mantra.

Decent skills.

Lame and will last for one battle. Three at most.

There is only two floors for the sixth layer.
That is considerably less than the others.
But there is a reason for that.

MAZE.

"Mamudoon
Petrifier
Null Death"

"Mudo
Curse
Void Death"

Gale needs more skills as well.

Calm Death is pretty much the most dangerous thing in the area around Beelzebub in DDS1. Beat beelzebub on my first run and then got one shotted with Dormina-Calm Death.
I was obviously NOT pleased at that.
Not as useful for the player, though.

Death is still annoying in this one, but fortunately, the Skull Ring takes care of that.

And here.
NOT ONLY A MAZE.
A TELEPORTY MAZE. HUGE. ENORMOUS. LARGE. WITH TELEPORTS.
nice layout though.

"Vayaviya"

We'll see what it does in the next update.

And now, a random encounter.

Parvati, the other enemy needed to be fought to access the secret bosses. She has the same HP and MP that Narasimha has, only that the null/repel is all magic instead of all phys.
Her magic defense is also CONSIDERABLY higher than Narasimha. Reincarnate hits her hard, even with that, though.

And it dropped on the very first one. Booya.

Next: OH GOD NO TELEPORTS WHY.
