Ultima VII: The Black Gate

by Nakar

Part 20: The Black Gate - money, and money can be exchanged for goods and services. Iolo, by contrast, cannot be exchanged for anything (except a Monitor knighthood). Also, I'm not sure the rollover will work in Exult; I tried once to console my stats to 255 in Exult like I remembered it being possible to do in the original and it wouldn't take, it stuck at 30 or 60 or 90 or some strange number.

IT-HE shows off some fun things to do with the serpent venom too. Apparently, you can OD a character on so much of it that once withdrawal kicks in, their stats end up wrapping around to 200 or so.

Yeah right. Drugs are worth money, and money can be exchanged for goods and services.

I tried it again in the latest version though and it worked fine (except Combat apparently can't be set to 255, though Hits and Mana can).

Then, disgusted that I would cheat, Patterson promptly threw himself on the Black Sword. Needless to say I and the entire Fellowship was mortified.

I was appalled, but slightly turned on, by this erotic impressive uncanny disgusting display. So I did what I had to do: I kept standing there swinging. Batlin threw some fire blasts at me but I didn't really feel it. Sometimes I hit him with the Black Sword but it just rerolled his current HP to a completely random number somewhere between 50 and 120.

Things got a little blurry after that but I distinctly recall all those guards brought it upon themselves.

Batlin, of course, had the good sense to be immortal, which is frankly something everyone should try when around the Avatar. The results can be rather disastrous.
