War in the East

by Grey Hunter

Part 85

I'm a little worried about the number of Guards units up by the Finns.

I continue to rest the northern forces. But the Panzers have arrived now. And I switch them to Army Group North command.

I get more men across the river Oka.

I take Tula and eliminate the trapped troops. 25,000 men surrender to my forces and the city I lost about a year ago is once more in my hands.

6th Army eliminates another pocket.

I then expand my bridgehead.

Waaaiiit. The Russians still have a Heavy Armour Brigade? What the hell have they put into it?

The shifting of Panzer's towards Moscow continues.

This whole part of the line is quiet.

In the south, those units in the mountains FINALLY surrender. I use the Italians to clear up the one that retreated.

The other side of the mountains also collapses. The great clean up is nearly complete!

Nearly, but not quite.

The Russians make one attack on our eastern flank.

I isolate a number of troops again this week, so I should be able to clear them up next week.

I run recon around Moscow, they seem to have the entire Red Air Force there, but they are also pulling me back. I must not let them retreat all of these units before I can spring the trap shut. But there are so many tempting gaps.

The massed Russian surrenders take a large number off men off the front line. Their casualties are nearing nine million men now.

As always their overall numbers are not affected.

Our replacements come in as normal.

As do our supplies.

My rope around Stalin's neck is getting tighter.
