War in the East

by Grey Hunter

Part 89

We take Cerepovets, but can only get eight thousand of the trapped troops to surrender.

I push further south, but the dense Russian formantions and this snow mean that I can only move forwards thirty kilometres, this does allow me to cut another rail line though.

Along 9th Army positions I push forwards, trapping a few more enemy units.

I continue this push north, trying to widen the sides of the pincer attack.

I then strike north, many of the units in my way are already broken, and fall back before me, but one Rifle Corps makes a stand.

I flood the area with tanks, cutting the last rail line, making it impossible for the Russians to evacuate anything from Moscow that cannot be fit into an airplane.

I clear out a small pocket.

This is now the quiet front, the spoiler attacks continue along the line, but I'm more interested in stopping massed attacks.

I do manage to clear out one of those mountain pockets in the deep south.

Moscow remains supplied, but only just, soon the pincer will shut and we will will have broken Stalin's neck, and we will be able to start processing all the new prisoners. I expect air supply and stockpiled supplies will keep the pocket going for a month or more, but the end is in sight now.

Russian losses begin to mount once more, but after next week, we should see some changes.

We should see some changes in these numbers as well.

The Blizzard has ended as well, meaning out troops will be so much stronger.

The Fuel pool is higher than it has been since the start of the war, we;re near maximum ammunition and fuel supplies, and have huge amounts of supplies ready.

Things are looking good.
