In Hall of Mists
You are at one end of a vast hall stretching forward out of sight to the west. There are openings to either side. Nearby, a wide stone staircase leads downward. The hall is filled with wisps of white mist swaying to and fro almost as if alive. A cold wind blows up the staircase. There is a passage at the top of a dome behind you.

Rough stone steps lead up the dome.

[Your score has just gone up by twenty-five points.]

Finally, choices about which direction to go in!

This is an important area, so let's burn a little space showing a big picture of it. (This is an actual picture of the real room in the cave, although you can't see the north and south exits easily.)

A dome is a hemispherical section of roof that has collapsed into the cave below. It can also refer to the top of a chimney (which is what you call a pit like the one we just climbed down when you're looking at it from below) or the top side of a hemispherical formation, which is what I'd guess we're talking about here. (So, a big round thing with stairs once you get on top of it.) Well, guess we'd better decide which way to g...
