“Star Commander, my leg is crippled,” an infectiously cheerful voice announced over open channels. “My hopes for our victory now lie squarely on your shoulders, as I am certain you thought they have since the outset. Please enjoy this badly damaged enemy assault `Mech by way of apology. Enemy commander, enemy pilots, this is Mechwarrior Steve of Clan Hell’s Horses. I pilot the crippled Exterminator. I am powering down my weapons systems, please do not push me over.”

Well protected in her ninety-five ton Banshee, Ho He almost laughed until a flight of LRMs from that damned Bowman smashed into her transplex windscreen, showering her with stinging shards of transparent plastics. Her passenger didn’t utter so much as a sound as she was showered by the same, but Ho He heard her move to let the command couch absorb as much of the shrapnel as possible. The Banshee’s left arm raised almost instinctively to ward off additional enemy fire and she was certain at least one of her Autocannon shells missed the still-distant Annihilator.

“That is fine, coward,” Tython Yeh growled as the Banshee’s arm fell. The Atlas’ command couch rocketed from the twisted ruin of its head an instant before an explosive submunition from the Annihilator’s shotgun-like autocannons blew through what little remained. “More kills for my codex. Come, Inner Sphere scum. Which of you wishes to die next?”
