Blurry, half-remembered shapes swam through air that pulsed and throbbed like the beating of a human heart. Faceless demons with black skin and a single lidless eye moved at the edges of consciousness, their bodies wreathed in tongues of flame. Long talons tipped their massive hands, and they walked on a goat’s legs. Beyond them, spirits screamed in torment as they streaked through the air trailing smoke and fire and the stony pillars of the corners of the box in which traitors were kept rose in mockery.

There was no escape from the traitor’s hell. No escape but to fight and die. The ghost who was Cong Tsui thrust his hands forward and to the surprise of the demons beyond his cockpit glass, his Stalker rose drunkenly to its feet and in the distance the great King, Lu, raised a mighty hand in threat. The soul of Cong Tsui’s battlemech strode forward to meet the King’s judgment with defiance and with utter contempt Lu unleashed the screaming souls of the damned.

None escaped from the Traitor’s Hell.
