Auxilia: Tactical Update 7

One of the Clan fighters disintegrated in a cloud of fire and shrapnel, when its own thrust drove one of its three engines through its own weakened airframe. The fighter detonated in a flash and was gone without a trace—at least to Luiza Cardoso’s unpracticed eyes. The other fighter was past before the wreckage of its compatriot had a chance to do any sympathetic damage, even flying slowly it was faster than its wingman’s remains. It rocketed skyward, and seemed to flop over on its tail as it came about. It was a smart maneuver, one Luiza had never seen and couldn’t identify, but it would likely prove enough to put that fighter out of range of her PPCs.

“Demon Hawks, this is Nemesis Flight,” a new voice filled the company’s comm. Channels with a heavy Spanish accent. The pilot was young, but sounded confident—and hopefully competent—enough. “I thought Central said you needed rescuing? If I’d known you just wanted a Janitor, I would’ve left things to Rabid and Sunday.”

“Har har,” another new voice broadcast. “We’re still minutes out and you know it. Break some faces for us, Nemesis.”

“Roger roger,” the first pilot replied. “Demon Hawks, joking aside, we’re here to help. I’m told you have Target Acquisition Gear? We’re dragging a bit and I’d like to drop a little weight, so now would be an exceptional time to paint something that looks expensive.”
