Ikuta Glacier: Tactical Update 3



Chaya’s face twisted into a grim scowl as her lasers bracketed the Summoner without touching it. Her shots had been hasty, admittedly, but missing completely was still a disappointment. It was her first real battle, and the Nova Captain had assigned her to a `Mech that should have spelled easy kills for even a rookie, and yet the closest she’d come to actually striking her target had been when one of her large pulse lasers had sent up a small cloud of steam and drawn a line in the snow between her `Mech and the Widowmaker.

The Summoner twisted in place, its right arm extending. It returned fire with only a single laser of its own, mirroring her own attack to draw a line in the snow. Apparently it’d thought her over-eager inaccuracy was a challenge to personal combat under the rules of Zell. She switched over to the Nova’s encrypted frequency.

“Nova Captain, the Summoner is challenging me. I shall lure it out of position, it should make for an easy back-shot quiaff?”

“Be cautious, Chaya,” August admonished. “If you wish an honorable duel we will support you and strike as you ask for it but remember that we do not hate the Widowmakers because they are stupid. That pilot has undoubtedly suggested the same thing. Maneuver carefully.”

Special Rules
Necrosia Stimulants Once per game, BattleMechs and Elementals may inject themselves with Necrosia stimulants granting them heightened reaction times for three turns. While Necrosia stimulants are active, Mechwarriors gain a -1 bonus to gunnery due to their heightened reaction times but suffer a +1 penalty to piloting tests due to minor visual hallucinations. Elementals in Ironhold Armor gain a -1 bonus to gunnery with no penalties. All other Elementals instead gain a -2 bonus to Anti-Mech attacks with no penalties. Icy Conditions Ice hexes are in play. At the bottom of the ravine, all ice hexes are treated as though they are elevation -6. It is possible to break through these ice hexes and fall into the liquid water below. If a `Mech does not extract itself from the water in two turns it will be frozen in place and immobilized (or destroyed if completely submerged).
