Part 3

The corridor is silent, but for the crackling of force bars and the slow trickle of water from a cracked pipe. Where is everybody? Why isn't there anybody guarding the cells?

The cell across from me is empty. I can see a few things inside, but I can't do much about it with those force bars in the way.

I can see a gun laying on the floor of cell 02. It's maddeningly close to the bars, but just out of reach. If I could figure out how to get the bars down, I'm sure a gun would be just what I need. There's a tunnel burrowed into the floor of the cell and the occupant is gone. I wonder where it goes. And if the person locked in this cell got out, why didn't they take that blaster?

Also strange, instead of a bed, there's some odd looking device. Looks almost like a coffin.

In any case, there's nothing to be done about it now. I hear a strange stomping noise from the last cell, I should investigate.

"If you've come for the fork, you'll be severely disappointed!"

Dear god... this blue guy must be one of the other test subjects here. He's obviously been driven insane. That scream I heard earlier must've been him trying to get out, and this is the gruesome result. His force bars must have been set to a far more lethal level than mine. They seem to have shorted out, flickering on and off, but he doesn't look like he wants to try crossing them. Who would, after losing an arm?

I hate to just leave him here, but I don't think he's in any condition to come with me. Mentally or physically.

It chills me to think that I easily could've ended up insane just like him. I guess I have something to be thankful for after all.

Heavy blast doors block the way out. I try to force them open, with little success. Though I'm far stronger than any normal human being, I can't pry the doors open more than just a few inches. They're locked up tight. Though I did cause some kind of sort in the panel next to the door. Maybe I can disable the locking mechanism from there.

No such luck. My fingers are too large to pry the panel open. If only I had something to pry it open with. Like... a fork.

Didn't that poor blue guy in cell 01 say something about having a fork?

I need to borrow this guy's fork, but somehow I don't think he'll just let me take it. His back is to me, and I can see the fork on the ground. Perhaps I could distract him and grab the fork? I need to make a decision quick, the force bars are about to come back on and he hasn't noticed me yet.
