Part 47: NG+ Update 19: Origin’s End

NG+ Update 19: Origin’s End

We’re getting close to the end now. There are only three SOL Scenes and the bonus dungeon to get through.

Centre is kind of a slog even without checking out all the branches, so I’ll be skipping through pretty much all of it.

It helps that the Buzz Militants, the most common type of enemy, are susceptible to Nina and Lin’s instant death skills.

The route I take involves fighting Cupid, then Yezuit. There’s no particular reason for this, since all of the remaining NG+ content occurs after the Regents are defeated. I just happened to take both left hand teleporters.

Speeding through the Regents’ super secret rumpus room leads us to the Cemetary.

Keys are turned, and doors are opened.

It’s pretty obvious at this point that Mebeth never stopped being a Regent, and was in on Elyon’s plan from the very beginning.

The huge door opens, granting us access to the Geovator - and the first of the game’s three final SOL Scenes. Buckle up, because they’re coming thick and fast now.

Music: Sorrowful Colour

: This is...

This scene clearly takes place some time before the beginning of the main plot, probably around the time Cupid tells Mebeth about Elyon’s plan. It’s nice to know that Scientist Man does have a conscience deep down inside, although it doesn’t excuse the hell he put Nina through.

Ryu and company activate the Geovator and begin their journey towards the surface. This triggers the game’s penultimate SOL Scene.

Music: Origin

There’s not a lot to say about this scene. Ryu has accepted that he’s going to lose his life and his humanity, but considers it a fair price for reaching the sky. This is the key difference between him and Elyon, who turned back at the last minute because he wasn’t sure that doing so was truly the right thing.

Speaking of Elyon, now’s his cue to appear.

I didn’t put up with the other Regents’ nonsense and I’m not putting up with his.

Elyon falls just as the Geovator finishes docking.

We’re almost at the end now. Past this door lies the last few bosses and the ending cutscene - and the final SOL Scene of the game.

: Ryu…

If you were wondering what happened to Elyon after the party left him behind, well…this should explain it. He probably didn’t have long left anyway, but Bosch needed to do something to beef up his dick credentials after being clowned on for most of the game.
