Part 100: Chapter 9 Delusion Recap

Part 100 - Chapter 9 Delusion Recap

40th Delusion Trigger:

After having the truth of his existence revealed to him, Takumi is desperately denying reality. He attempts to retreat into delusion. The thread chose Neutral.

In the Neutral Option, Takumi doesn't get the chance to have a delusion.

In the Positive/Negative Options, Rimi stops him before he can think of a delusion, and warns him that if he tries again, she will erase Takumi.

41st Delusion Trigger:

Takumi is slowly making his way back to his house, desperately trying to figure out anything that could contradict Rimi's words. Unable to come up with anything, Takumi no longer has any self worth. What value does a fake, a copy, have? Takumi stands at the edge of a busy road, contemplating throwing himself into traffic. Negative was chosen.

In the Negative Delusion, Takumi throws himself into traffic and is killed. Then he wakes up back on the sidewalk. He throws himself into traffic and is killed. Then he wakes up on the sidewalk. This repeats until, eventually, Takumi is too afraid of the pain and uncertainty to try and kill himself.

In the Positive Option, Takumi attempts to throw himself into traffic, but he ultimately is unable to work up the will to commit suicide.

In the Neutral Option, Takumi does throw himself into traffic, but the car stops in time. This near miss does nothing but make Takumi even more despondent. Can he not even manage this?

42nd Delusion Trigger:

Takumi is home, and he has no idea what to do. Everyone he knows (and that's a short list) is either untrustworthy or unavailable to help him. Takumi is all alone. Neutral was picked.

In the Neutral Option, Takumi gets the idea to hang himself. He doesn't have the space to actually dangle, so he has to hold himself up to choke, but he manages. After suffering the pain of suffocating for nearly a minute, his rope snaps. Takumi is too unwilling to put himself through that pain to try again.

In the Positive Delusion, Seira tries to cheer Takumi up by pointing out that this is just a return to status quo. He has no friends? That wasn't a problem before. He doesn't see the point in life? It's not like he had one before. All he has to do is look only at Seira, just like back then. But that just isn't enough for Takumi now.

In the Negative Option, Takumi remembers an old knife he used to keep around because it made him feel cool. It's rusty, but still sharp enough to do the job. But even after holding the blade at his wrist for several minutes, he can't do it. He wants to live too much, even though his life has no meaning.

43rd Delusion Trigger:

Takumi is reduced to blindly hoping that a chance occurrence will kill him, or else that someone else will do the job, since he himself cannot do so. His dark mood is interrupted by the sounds of Nanami banging on the door and yelling, annoying enough that Takumi can't ignore it. The thread chose Neutral.

In the Neutral Option, Takumi lets Nanami inside, but her unusually subdued mood leaves him to wonder if she's a delusion.

In the Negative Delusion, Takumi opens the door to let Nanami in. But instead of Nanami, what he sees is a corpse. A stinking, rotten, talking, walking corpse. The zombie that was Nanami crushes Takumi's neck with her left hand (since her right is unavailable). Takumi let's her, because he's responsible for her ending up like this.

In the Positive Delusion, when Takumi opens the door Nanami is her usually cheerful self. The attitude she displays is such an abrupt turn around from how annoyed she was banging on the door that Takumi is unsure whether she's real. Then again, he can't be sure that anything is real. Takumi demands that Nanami take off her bandage, and she does so, revealing words carved into her wrist: "Whose eyes are those eyes?" This is the eleventh and final Ending B trigger.

44th Delusion Trigger:

After following Seira's promise that someone will kill him, Takumi has ended up in the middle of the scramble crossing, packed with throngs of people. Takumi has yet to see the person who will supposedly kill him. The thread chose Positive here.

In the Positive Delusion, Takumi goes to the O-Front roof, where Sena, Kozue, Yua and Ayase are here to recreate the Group Dive, with Shogun watching over them. Takumi takes his place and leaps without a single trace of fear.

In the Negative Delusion, it turns out that the purpose of the gathering is for everyone present to take a turn stabbing Takumi to death. Fun for the whole family!

In the Neutral Option, Takumi realizes that this event is the prelude for what will essentially be a group lynching. Takumi is a little nervous of being watched by this many people, but he is willing to endure it if it results in his death.
