Part 61: The Endings

The End(?)

What changes between the two GDI endings?

First off, winning the last GDI map without using the Ion Cannon to destroy the Temple of Nod results in the first video, and the one seen in the run in the LP. Kane is crushed to death by falling debris.

If the Ion Cannon is used, the below occurs instead.

The Temple of Nod, and Kane, are seemingly vaporized by the Ion Cannon's blast. According to Joe Kucan, the actor who plays Kane, this was the intended Canon Ending for the game. We will see why in Tiberian Sun, a long time from now.

But what changes in the NOD endings? The player chooses which of the 4 occur, presumably as they (The Brotherhood of NOD) would only have a long enough access for 1 shot.

While the GDI endings have a finite ending (IE: Kane is Dead), the NOD ending implies that, while NOD have gained control of the Ion Cannon, seemingly only for one strike, the GDI is still operational, and does not rule out the continuation of the First Tiberium War.
