Part 143: Hinnom - Turn 47

Turn 47

Half a league, half a league,
  Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
  Rode the Rephaim.
'Forward, giant robots!
Charge for the banes' he said:
Into the valley of Death
  Rode the Rephaim.

'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a robot dismay'd?
Not tho' the giants knew
  Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to get real high,
Eat Twinkies and Frito pie,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
  Rode the Rephaim

Research in Enchantment is almost finished and so my leftover points are put into evocation. Maybe I'll finally be able to toss some real battlefield spells around.

In Lanka, one of these little guys goes up against monkey province defense. It ends poorly for the province defense.

Mictlan continues to roll through T'ien Ch'i.

In Vician Forest, TheDemon sends a Rakharaja, 6 Rakshasas and 14 Gana. They are very shortly after eaten by a Zmey. Of course, when Lilli ordered that attack the province was mine.

TheDemon sets his remaining mages to move and patrol to his capital.

Sauromatia takes Cacian Forest because I tell him to. Schneeble is going to recruit an air mage (remember those independent air mages I found here twenty five turns ago?) and then give the province back. I'm trying to help him with diversity because I need a strong ally in the coming war and, frankly, because I'm not as good at treating this game as winner take all as I should be and he's been friendly and I want to help him.

An interesting meta game note. In Histyra, I'm one turn from completing my fort. When the fort is completed I will post about having a construction site in this thread.

With everyone on research duty to finish Enchantment, I have ten dwarven hammers going spare. Having a construction site and a nation with good earth access is really nice.

KING HIPPO JR leads what I hope will be the final charge into Lanka. I suspect a defensive movement trap but there is little I can do about it.

Two Mechanical Giants sally forth to confront the Zmeywaffe. They may not survive, but they know they must try. Because they're robots. They don't really get much say in the matter, truth be told.

If 011100011111 and EMOTIONLESS ROBOT can't take a few provinces from Lilli then things will begin looking very bleak indeed.

Expect a discussion of their equipment in my upcoming strategy post. Until then, please feel free to speculate about why I've chosen this kit.

As you can see, Lilli owns almost everything T'ien Ch'i used to, and everything that isn't forted down (and much that is) that Arcosephale used to own. She has a large army of Jaguar Warriors sieging down another of Arcoscephale's forts and, potentially, headed my way.

She also has five Zmey that I can count, plus :Smaug: and, I'm guessing, five more Bane Lords. That is a lot of raiders.

In Lettia, it looks like The Biggest Poppa, T'ien Ch'i's pretender, picked up a pet Zmey. I wonder what happened there?

Sharp eyed readers will have noticed that BARBED WIRE TATTOO wasn't researching in Histyra. He is casting this bad boy. This is one of two "fuck you, stop me from winning" globals. Let's see if it works, shall we?

Whirling Sea is where I'm sending the horror from Gift of Kugri. Water provinces are like free income and it will be a pain in the ass for Lilli to take this back. Frankly, this probably isn't the best use of the free send lesser horror, but here we are nonetheless.
