Part 7: Every Daughter's Fondest Dream

"Third time's the charm.."

"And I've already got a better feeling about this. Also, I no longer want a pet Crested Viper."

"Probably for the best, your Highness."

"It's taunting me, sitting over there in the middle of that tile arrangement."

"... they never did say anything about who they got to build this cave, did they?"

"I suddenly feel a lot better about cleaning this place out."

"What the hell is wrong with these things?"

"What's wrong? I thought girls were supposed to like pink."

"Don't say I haven't warned you."

"Ahh, finally. But we're not done clearing this place out yet."

"How many days has it been since they sent that ransom note, anyway?"

"Princess, I've learned how to teleport us back to town!"

"Can you teleport us to Endor so we can skip all this penny-ante crap?"

"I'm afraid not, your Highness."

"What's this goop for?"

"Restoring a magic user's energy, your Highness."

"I'm sure in the rare occasion when we're more than a few steps from an inn that might be useful."

"They're not even trying to be subtle about this, are they?"

"Well, they've been waiting for at least three days for us to show up with the bracelet. I'd imagine they were a bit more stealthy the first couple of nights."

"Whatever. Let's go kick their asses."

"Not only no, but hell no."

"Well.. honestly, I don't really care about her one way or the other. And you've been holding onto her for days so I don't think you're actually going to kill her."

"What part of NO did you not understand? She's not even the real princess!"

"What?"

"Yoink!"

"Oh God DAMMIT. It's probably cursed anyway."

"Yeah, we knew. Hey, do you want a priest?"

"No.. not really."

"Will you quit trying to palm me off on other people?"

"I got carried away because people treated me nicely when I pretended to be a princess..."

"Wait, you have a set of your own? Does your priest have a crush too?"

"I wish. I've got the pervy old man."

"I'm so sorry. Would you like to switch?"

"ALENA! I'm not going anywhere!"

"I need to get my face out in public more so this doesn't happen again."

"She pretended to be someone she's not, took gifts and services under false pretenses, and she was carting around a thieves key. The fact that she didn't take your pocket change just means she had a soft spot for old men."

"You're damn right about that."

"Are we heading south?"

"Yes, your Highness."

"I hope nothing bad will happen."

"So.. cursed, then?"

"Like you wouldn't believe."

"I've got this strange feeling that I'm going to be hounded about this until we go to this bazaar."

A funny thing about Frenon is that some of the shops aren't available until after you deal with the fake princess plot. Once you do, a few new weapon and armor options open up. The thing is that you're immediately afterward going to be heading to a place with even better equipment.

"I'm pretty sure that's an oasis, but does this really count as a desert?"

"Technically, I suppose, although I'm fairly sure that deserts aren't normally surrounded by forests."

"I wonder if they only set up in deserts around the world?"

"I'm beginning to think that the old man who told us the shrine to Endor was to the southwest was severely confused."

"Don't mind if I do!"

"Alena! That's not what he meant!"

"Hey, you heard the man."

"Pony!"

"Eh. He can bide for a bit."

"You know, we could be back there in about ten seconds."

"I'm just not sure about where you're getting your ingredients."

"I'd heard that, and I really wish I could just get there and compete."

"The worst thing about them is the teeth. A giant worm really shouldn't have teeth."

"Alright, that's enough for now. Let's see what the bazaar gets up to at night."

"You and me both."

"Speaking of which, is it just deserts that you set up in or do you have forest and plain bazaars as well?"

"You know, you could make a lot more money staying open at night instead of during the day time. Maybe with some dancers?"

"I'll take care of this bug for you, Princess!"

"Oh, I'm actually okay with scorpions. And I definitely don't need your help to deal with one."

"Scorpions aren't bugs, either. They're actually arachnids."

"DINOSAURS! This is the best place ever!"

If you haven't gotten the idea yet, Dragon Warrior 4 is an extremely grindish game.

"Enough punching dinosaurs. Let's find out what's wrong with the old man."

"Oh.. oh really? Can't speak, you say?"

"This can't end well."

"Yes, yes yes... but first, daddy and I are going to have a little talk."

"Father dear, I've realized that it's been a long time since we've had a father-daughter chat, and I think we should change that..."

"AND YOU NEVER BOUGHT ME THAT PONY!"

"MRPH!"

End of Update Snapshot

A new weapon has done wonders for Alena's attack, and her strength is ungodly. She's turning into a bit of a glass cannon, however.

Cristo.. well, he's Cristo. Still very balanced, but he's got fairly respectable offensive and defensive power when he's not using spells.

Brey should still be using magic most of the time, but the Venomous Dagger gives him an option when you want to save MP. It causes paralysis and, unlike the Poison Needle from previous games, has respectable attack power. He's still squishy, though.
