In-Game Description posted:

Warriors are weapon experts. Their Advance ability allows them to deal even more damage than normal, but they also get hit a lot harder.

Warriors hit things with weapons. Their unique command lets them hit harder, but also gets them hit harder in that round, with the exact numbers on both sides increasing with job level. As far as stats go, Warriors aren't great, but they're not the absolute worst, either, and all Wind Crystal jobs are pretty close on stats, anyway. Well, for as long as you're likely to use them.

I like Warriors for the early part of the game. I do tend to drop them as I move on and get classes with more useful commands; Advance can be useful if you think you could end a battle early with just a little boost to this one attack, but that's really it. Most random encounters you can probably handle in one or two rounds, and against bosses, it's not worth the risk to start out with a big hit. The thing that makes me choose Warriors over a class like the Monk is that Warriors get a chance to equip elemental weapons, which helps to deal with weaknesses, and those same weapons cast first-tier spells if they're used as items. All in all, a solid class to use when it's first available, but not something I'd take into the endgame.
