Part 92: Hero of the Lion War

That's supposed to be "Faram", the sun god and central deity of Ivalician religion.

As the mourners leave, Olan and Balmafula sneak up to the grave.

: I wanted to come earlier, but it was too dangerous... Too risky...

Balmafula puts some flowers on the grave.

: A commoner brings peace to a chaotic kingdom, marries the Princess, becoming King. A legend that will be passed down for centuries. Delita may be a good person as you said... He made it look like he killed her then let her go, when her identity was clear. I guess he identified with her, having been used by Vormav...

Balmafula points offscreen, Olan nods, understanding the meaning, and she leaves.

: ...I'll come back again. Bye...

Olan begins to leave, but stops.

: I still can't believe you're really dead... I mean...you know...

Olan goes to leave again when two figures on chocobos arrive.

They're... Ramza and Alma?

They silently walk on, heedless of Olan. Balmafula hears him and runs back.

: ...Thank you. Ramza.

This is a CGI cutscene so ePSXe valiantly churns onwards.

It remained stable, just slow.

It follows Ramza and Alma as they ride across the countryside.

While this narration plays.

I guess 5 years is the canonical length of the game. Does that count the 15 months of time skips though is the question.

Sorry, but Olan didn't escape dying in the end. Did I tell you the body count soars come chapter 4?

FFT doesn't drop Alazlam's surname until now. WotL has it in the opening.

Well thanks FFT you got me buying any game that has Matsuno's named attached to it. I bought LUCT based on that alone. It's pretty fun actually.

Anyway, there's a scene after the credits.

Once again, it's at the Zeltennia church ruins.

Queen Ovelia sits in the ruins, listening to the birds.

King Delita rides in on his chocobo.

He dismounts it, and begins to walk towards Ovelia, brandishing...

A beautiful bouquet.

Delita pulls the dagger from Ovelia's hand and stabs her with it.

Her body falls on the flowers.

Delita takes a few steps back, wondering how it came to this.

He drops his dagger.

He steps away, then collapses to his knees.

Thanks to OurLivesOnline for the picture. It covers holes in my screenshots so well.
