Knights are pretty simple. Their entire game plan is to run up to the enemy and smash some faces with swords. Battle Skill makes them quite skilled at debilitating enemies, as it has a direct speed decrease. Nothing, I mean nothing, makes an enemy helpless quite like having 1 speed.

The Knight's main problem comes from having 3 move and no range. It's hard to get them in the fight sometimes. The lack of synergy with most secondary abilities also hurts. Their magic is average and focusing on it takes away from giving and taking damage, Jump and Punch Art require support abilities to work well here, average speed hampers Steal and Throw, and MA is better than PA for Elemental.

Late in the game, Knights having to walk up to the enemy really hurts. You've got awesome ranged attacks and awesome movement abilities, and you'd have to settle for this guy. Knights get completely overshadowed by most special characters, who are an assortment of knights. They have ranged special attacks that do so much more than the PA*WP Knights rely on.

Knights have a lot to offer other classes, though. The break skills work wonders with a gun or bow, all three equip abilities (sword, shield, armor) have value somewhere, and Weapon Guard is a great early-game reaction ability for mages. Knights help you out when you're starting, and give you abilities for later.

Being the only generic class that can equip Knight swords is kinda cool, though.
