Part 34: Naval Warfare for Dummies

Chapter 32: Naval Warfare for Dummies

Here's Surgate's fleet, ready to run ashore several miles away from Exdeath's castle and fall flat against the barrier.

...Xezat knows that's there, right?

Hold your fire! Their freinds!

The wind drake lands on the ship.

Xezat! How the devil have you been?
Managing, barely. These friends of yours?

These ladies are nobility from the other world.
Well met. I am the swordsman Xezat.
Oho? Not "King" Xezat?
Ehh, I don't think it suits me all that well.
Sure doesn't! Har har har! I'm the same way. So, can you get us in to Exdeath's castle?
Ha, you're already halfway in! For now, go below deck and rest for a bit. The fireworks'll start soon enough.

So we do.

And soon enough, something does happen.

And so, we set off to completely repel the attack.

Exdeath... Somehow he's gotten the jump on us!

Dude's on the stern!

Surgate's soldiers die as easily as Bal's!

Don't blow it this time!
I think that's my line! Rahhh!

Xezat takes the fight away from us, leaving us with gooks.

Gobbledygooks in particular. They have 1,000 HP, so Thief Faris still kicks their asses, even without Titan!

Xezat's not having an easy time! Let's take out the commander, fast!

...Don't tell me.

Ahhh.... Blue, blue skies and the rolling sea! It's days like this that get you high on life! But you, sirs, are harshing my buzz!

HEY IT'S: GILGAMESH

First off, Gilgamesh now has really nice equipment to steal. The Genji Gloves are really strong gloves that prevent toad and paralysis.

Second, Golem prevents most of Gligamesh's damage.

Third, White Wind is pretty awesome.

It's Gilgamesh' faithful sidekick, Enkidu!

faithful sidekick!
The old man gave me some trouble.
Ho? Let's return the trouble... ...and make it double! Come on!

Enkidu immediately casts White Wind, healing Gilgamesh for 4,000 HP.

However, since he only has 4,000 HP and some lesser Blue magics, he drops like a sack of lead.

Poison Rods are only useful for boosting Bio.

Rods Broken: 19

I mean, this sucks compared.

See? Here's Bio with the rod.

I trust you can take care of the rest!

Hey! Sidekicks are NOT to ditch the hero!

And with that, Gilgamesh goes down.

Gilgamesh tries to fling Galuf in the ocean, but he holds on tight!

Woah woah woah!
Hey! Foul! That's playing dirty! I'm not supposed to be the only one in the drink! Don't think I'll forget this! You'll-*glub glub glub...*

I'm coming! Hang in there!
That pun is so bad, I'm gonna fall on purpose...

And so Galuf doesn't drown.

Good timing! Now, it's our turn to strike! Quit hanging around and get over here!
Again with the puns... Oy.

Eleven defense from the gloves themselves. They weigh a fuckton, but that's the price to pay for this much defense and some status protection.

After the battle, we find Xezat in this hold.

Together, they reveal this hole, and...

...Precision-welded steel again?

We're off!

We're in a submarine. A fucking submarine.

NEXT TIME:

A virtual genocide of Reflect Knights!
