Part 77: Visiting Cloud

Chapter 76 - Visiting Cloud

Now that we're done with the first two bosses, it's time for us to visit Cloud and see what's up for a quick chapter.

Yup, sounds like Cloud's good and back to his usual self. Pack your things up guys.

Dude's having hallucinations about Xenogears. Of course no one can understand his words.

Yea, things are pretty bad, but don't wor-

Oh for fuck's sake.

Seriously,

we just can't have nice things, can we?

So yea, Lifestream-induced earthquake. Things just can't get worse now.

Oh no.

Oh no.

Ok. Now things can't get worse.

And just like that, we get to fight...

So yea, Ultimate Weapon. Because of the nature of this fight (catching you by surprise, no time for preparation, etc) Ultimate Weapon is very easy.

It's worthy mentioning the [Curse Ring] you can steal from it, as there are only two in the game (curiously, both at Mideel).

Otherwise, Ultimate Weapon is fairly straightforward. As you can see we don't really kill it as it just flees away once you hit a certain damage threshold... well, we'll finish it another day.

Ultimate Weapon is FF7's equivalent to Deathgaze. We'll be able to fight it again later on as an optional encounter. It will also feature more powerful skills and, albeit it will still be a pushover, there are some interesting shenanigans related to Elemental defenses when it comes down to Ultimate Weapon. But everything in its time.

Oh yea, talking about Elements:

Moving on.

Cid, the ultimate online player. 1x1?

In all fairness, it was pretty easy. The Planet has been fairly disappointing.

Oh yeah.

In case you forgot that the Planet's defense system decided to attack the most disgraceful remote hippie village ever instead of taking care of Sephiroth or, I don't know, the dozens of reactors literally destroying the world, we were also having an earthquake.

A turbo-charged lifestream induced earthquake.

WHY CAN'T WE HAVE NICE THINGS?

Alright, so, Tifa and Cloud ARE getting out of this place by force. The plot is moving, quite literally.

"I wonder if the horrified screams and Cid crying for us to get out of here is a sign of this."

Oh c'mon, you can't be serious.

Thank you for your input, Doctor. NOW MOVE.

MOVE!

HOLYCRAP TIFA, MOVE!

FFFDFTR34FG03JGJ5409HJ05FF!!

Goddamn it, Tifa.

So, uh.

It seems we were wrong.

Things could get worse after all.

NEXT TIME:

At this rate probably the apocalypse!
