Part 88: Paralogue 20: A Hard Miracle - Battle

Paralogue

Seal Time

Brady gonna axe some fools to die. With that E rank Bronze Axe, totally.

Man, Lissa really isn't cut out to kill things nowadays. I should probably work on her support rank with Owain a bit. But then Henry can't kill anything and that would make him sad. Decisions, decisions....

I-I'm sorry, sir! I looked away for but a moment and she'd disappeared! Perhaps she thought the zealots had come to take her back and wanted to spare us.

That certainly sounds like something she'd do. Well, she can't have gotten far. Come on!

The toughest part of the map is done. Well, sort of. The enemies will still gun for her, so you still have to be aggressive in wiping out the advancing enemies.

But first, some nice conversation.

Lissa talks to Emmeryn

Mmm...?

Do you really not remember me? Or Chrom...?

I don't... I c-can't...

...... It's been super hard not having you around. But I've tried to be strong, like you. And if I've done this well without you, think how well I'd do WITH you!

So c'mon, Sis. You gotta stay with us! Even if you don't remember anything!

Chrom talks to Emmeryn

Emmeryn!

Mmm...?

It's me, Chrom. Do you remember? We're siblings. We grew up together. You, me, and Lissa. You were always the strongest of us. Even more than me.

I d-don't... I can't...

Gods, Sis, I just... I don't know what to do here. All right, listen. I won't ask you to remember anything. Not even me. Just...stay with us.

Please. We love you, and we want to keep you safe.

Frederick talks to Emmeryn

Your Grace! Lady Emmeryn, please wait.

Mmm...?

We heard rumors. People said your body was never found, but... We had to flee, Your Grace. Gangrel would have killed us all.

......

Sometimes I'd allow myself a kind of fool's hope that you survived. Maybe you were taken in by some kind Plegian, or found by a traveling merchant...

But mostly I feared that if you'd lived, you'd fallen to an even harsher fate. I never forgot about you. Even after all this time, I've been...hoping. And here you are, confirming both the good and ill of my secret thoughts.

Y-you... I d-don't...

Your brother has grown into a fine man, but he would do well by your company. Stay with us, Your Grace. I beg it of you. I promise I will not fail you again.

Tiki, Severa/Tharja, and Yarne/Owain will handle the initial Dark Fliers.

Tiki isn't nearly the monster that Nah is, but a Dragonstone+ still puts her as the 2nd best tank on the team by a mile.

Lissa is too weak to even scratch the Dark Fliers and too slow to not get horribly murdered in the process.

That's why she tags along to help Inigo out who can kill something. Unfortunately it looks like he's skating with that lowish strength for a while longer. His target drops a Medium Bullion.

Nah is going to blockade the left advancing enemies, hopefully not murdering everyone on the squad.

Gangrel tries to kickstart his scheme to recruit Robin into his kingdom with a quick slice into a Grimleal's chest.

I would hope not.

Yarne continues to cheat his lack of speed with the Brave Bow.

Tiki chips her target to a manageable level, gaining a great level in the process.

Man, even Tharja isn't really doing that good combat-wise despite Tomebreaker. Still good odds that she'll die in one round against these Dark Fliers.

Noire snipes down the last Dark Flier in the area, then the rest of the team moves about to intercept the next batch.

Good news, she doesn't kill the Assassins and deal great near-death damage. Bad news, she's going to have to eventually kill a couple to prevent the others from being overwhelmed. Then again, I guess killing too much is such a Nah problem.

Gangrel kicks off the turn with some rank building, sucking the air out of an Assassin. Nah chips a Sorcerer down to 1 HP, but sadly no one to take the kill immediately after.

Not feeling too confident about Henry handling the enemy phase.

Severa, Tiki, and Owain will get in front to prevent Emmy from being targeted.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah not really feeling it.

Owain is equipped to handle spellcasters, but Assassins can still be dealt with if needed. Owain gains C rank tomes for the future.

Tiki one-rounds a Sorcerer in retaliation.

Severa didn't take too kindly to the damage from the other Assassin, criticalling for the kill.

You see Henry getting the assist kill? He did that 3 mores times, leaving just a Dark Knight left in the massacre. Damn it, Henry. Kill on your own time!

Fate has already stolen much from that girl. To take her life as well would be too cruel! Please, take this staff and use it to see her home safely!

The elder gives a Rescue Staff which I guess would be helpful if we couldn't afford one at this stage of the game. In which cases things have gone horribly horribly wrong.

You're not a speedster anymore, Gangrel. Gain some speed!

And you too, Henry. Especially you (Learns Vengeance).

Severa continues to out-slice the Assassins, healing up in the process and getting B rank swords.

Brady continues to turbo-level via his EXP-friendly staves after Rescuing Severa from the next wave of enemies.

Owain sheds a little light into the dark Sorcerer's life, but the tan proved fatal.

Henry puts that new Vengeance to good use, stacking it with a critical to oneshot the Dark Knight.

Tiki and Owain do a great job of weakening the enemies, setting up a nice clean-up next turn.

Yarne one-shots a Dark Flier and Tharja eliminates a fellow Dark Knight with a rare case of superior speed.

Chrom takes down the other Dark Flier, gaining A Rank lances for some extra bonus Mt.

Man, these Dark Knights really suck if Lissa is doubling them.

Nah, Henry, and Robin advance on the left side while Noire destroys a Flier with her Longbow.

Gangrel eliminates an unmentioned Mire Sorcerer that really did nothing, but Gangrel needs to impress any tactician at this point.

It's not just me, right? That number just keeps on appearing....

Lissa, Tharja, and Tiki proceed on the right side after Brady mass-heals with Fortify.

Severa didn't manage to kill off the other Mire Sorcerer, but she gains some stats to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Lissa slowly tries to crawl her way out of bad stats+high internal level hell, one spoon-fed kill at a time. The rest of the right team separate their bonds.

Robin transfers Henry to Lucina before using Rally Cry to boost her defenses and end the turn.

38% hit. Not bad.

Nah and Noire do a good job of weakening the Dark Knights for easy clean-up, the latter gaining a level (+1 HP/Str/Mag/Spd/Def).

Lucy and Gangrel get the glory kills.

The right team will retreat back to let Tiki weaken all the advancing forces.

Tiki does her best impression of Nah by getting almost everyone to the 10's of HP, and nets herself a nice level in the process.

Inigo gets the first taste of igniting the massacre, gaining some needed strength.

Yarne finding new ways to be a slow bruiser.

Slowly fixing that, though.

Tiki throws fire at a Dark Flier, getting really defensive about it.

Crazy people gone wild.

I haven't been mentioning it a few times, but Nah's been getting scant points of resistance and magic since those aren't capped. Not really much of a big difference.

Robin eliminates the last of the left side Grimleal, leaving just a couple Dark Knights and the boss left.

Lissa just might be salva-

...Never mind.

Then again, Tharja's not doing that much better. She's helped at least by Tomefaire and A rank Tomes, adding Slow Burn to help her accuracy problems.

A little Rescue spamming for Brady to gain another level.

Lucina sets Falchion to "kill" after Tiki weakens the Sorcerer.

5 more levels until Lucy gets out of her class hell. Ardi drops a Talisman.

......I'm torn, Robin. If she somehow regains her memory, it may mean greater pain for her.

It may, yes.

But damn it, I want my sister back. I want her to remember Lissa and me. I want to just...talk to her again.

Is that selfish, Robin? I know I'd be returning her to a world that nearly killed her once already. She'd remember all the taunts, all the guilt, all the pressure she lived under...

It's a difficult situation, Chrom. I don't know what to say.

She's alive, and free, and for that I should be doubly grateful. And yet... It's not enough. It's not enough for her to be alive like...this.

Did she just...?

She did! Oh, Emmeryn, it's you! You always used to say that to us when we were younger! I knew you'd come back to us! I knew it! *sob*

All right, then. No more crying. For any of us. You were strong for me once. Now it's my turn.

A free Fortify Staff is given afterwards.

Healer and can get Galeforce, with A in Staves already. Good! Can only be supported by Robin despite the multiple conversations. Bad. Still useful because she's a free healer and they don't need friends to work.

Official Bio: Chrom's older sister, the former exalt of Ylisse. A fall in Plegia took most of her memory and impaired her speech, but the love in her heart could not be diminished. The hardest to kill.
