Part 96: Second Seals

Second Seals and Re-classing

A new mechanic introduced to Fire Emblem is the ability to switch classes, though limited in choice unless that character is the Avatar/Spotpass character.

At level 10 of a base class, a character can change to another base class available to him/her.

At level 1-9 in an Advanced class, that character can only change back to one of their base classes.

At level 1-29 of a Special class, that character can only change to one of their other base classes.

At level 10 of an Advanced class or level 30 of a Special class, that character can change to any class (both base and Advanced) available.

At the max level of a respective class, the Second Seal can be used to go back to that exact same class I.E. A level 20 Lord can Second Seal back to a level 1 Lord.

Using a Second Seal adds to a character's Internal Levels, which treats the character as if it gained (Current Level/2) added to post-Second Seal.

I.E. A level 10 Lord Chrom Second-Sealing to a Cavalier has the game treating him as if he's a level 5 character when it comes to EXP gain.

A level 20 Lord Chrom Second-Sealing results in a level 1 Cavalier, but treated as a level 10 character for EXP gain.

There is a limit to how many Cumulative levels are added per Second Seal, depending on the difficulty. Normal=20, Hard=30, Lunatic=50.
