Part 152: Mayer

Yeah, the White Devil won't be a part of that competition, for obvious reasons.

Fatal Flaw: Used by Mayer, who I don't particularly care for.

The issue with this design, like most missile designs you put together, is that its accuracy isn't good enough. I like the Yongsai 3 Arm...for machine gun and shotgun wanzers, not for missile and rifle wanzers.

How to fix it? Well, most of the time, I bemoan using high-power, low-HP body parts, but this design calls out for one, since it's has no business getting anywhere close to the enemy anyway. The Rekson has a pretty high power, but not quite enough. I would have gone for a Whisk, or some other body with 344 power, and gone with a more accurate arm.

Weapons
L. Shoulder: Bjariger
L. Hand: Mk. 11 Sniper
R. Shoulder: None
R. Hand: Heavy Shield

Mayer's second design...which is almost exactly the same as the first, except, instead of solving the accuracy problem, the extra power from the Whisk was spent on a second Getty arm to hold the shield.

Okay, a melee arm costs 15 weight, saving 21 power over the Getty, which makes it possible to swap the other Getty arm out for a Rekson or a Shangdi arm which has 42% more accuracy. Conclusion: you have all failed me...or are terrified that someone will take your spot if you don't get your design in as soon as possible. I prefer the explanation that make this oversight not my fault.

Longbow IIC

Parts
Body: Whisk
L. Arm: Getty
R. Arm: Enyo Mk109
Legs: Whisk
Backpack: BPT9MAX
Computer: COMG10

Weapons
L. Shoulder: Empty
L. Hand: Bucklet
R. Shoulder: Bjariger
R. Hand: Mk11 Sniper

I'm sure there's a reason I went with the Enyo over the Rekson...I just can't quite remember what the hell it was.

Beyond that, it's not like there was a huge range of designs to synthesize here, I don't know, Mayer joins the party at the end of the game, and spends the rest of the time oscillating between being boring and being creepy, then again, seeing as Chuck has just bafflingly been renewed again on the strength of having a blonde Australian woman in its cast, maybe I'm missing some sort of nerd receptor in my brain that explains the appeal.
