Front Mission: Gun Hazard

Part 27

Alright, so a few days ago I did some grinding in order to get the Bazooka 3. I did so with the help of Tuxedo Ted playing as Clark, though I think setting things up so I could actually host through my router took longer than getting the cash. But anyway...

We got this...

...and this.

Here's the first side area we'll be covering today.

These little flying things project a laser downwards. If you step in it, a set of crosshairs appear much like Brenda's and you get bombed. It's kind of annoying.

Whoa. It's this guy, back from the dead.

He shoots bullets which, themselves, split into three more bullets. Meanwhile an unlimited supply of those flying spotters are spawning. It gets hectic to say the least. But anyway, he dies eventually. Again.

I also got 2784 EXP from this.

Notice that beating that other level unlocks a path moving forward from THIS one. I don't get it, either.

Why are you even bothering?

1144 EXP gained as well.

together. They're fighting like a regular army.

What if they ARE an army? If Balming... Never mind. Probably just a coincidence.

Exactly how many times were you dropped on your head as a child, Albert?

Let's try this base here.

A camp... Looks like the guys we tangled with earlier.

Several times earlier.

And they said they were working for Balming?

No, seriously. What is WRONG with you?

What'd Tangany stand to gain from wrecking the summit?

I doubt this is about Tangany... The General's agenda seems to be a private one.

Oh, NOW you think he's the bad guy.

What do you want us to do?

See if we can't get any information out of them. And if not... at least thing their numbers a little.

OK. Let's deploy!

Let's gather some information... with our guns!

Some sort of Jeep-Tank?

Pow! Right in the kisser!

Why would you leave 1000 dollars just lying around like that?

Oh ho. That's actually nice.

I'm going to go ahead and never use this. I think it just makes you move faster.

Inside the base, we find... more of those little head-butting guys.

It's also a maze.

Oh yes. That's awesome.

Looks like some kind of infrared detection device. "Noctoscope"? This might come in handy.

So... it's night vision with a fancy name?

Nice.

Nothing except this noctoscope.

Well, and the several thousand dollars, the Kevlar vest, the entire Wanzer for Clark that I found in a small box, and a bunch of other crap I didn't mention such as a first aid kit and a shotgun.

What bothers me is that this camp looks like part of an organized war effort...

Scary thought...

Yeah. Destroying this camp alone won't be enough to stop them.

But we got a NOCTOSCOPE!

Genoce is here, too.

We'll have to move fast to stay ahead of our enemies. Let's go!

This opened up, but I didn't use it yet.

Note that even though this should be an upgrade, it's actually LOWERING Clark's HP. That is the power of having 120% vs 0%, but the new Wanzer will catch up in time.

I screwed up here and missed the level name. It's "Road to Janga."

He can't have gone that far.

Shall we sweep the area, sir?

Probably the best course of action. Let's start with a thourough search of the surrounding highlands.

I just received word from the Prime Minister. It seems he is in good health.

That's great!

He had found shelter in the village of Janga. Get to him as soon as you can!

Roger!

So, I guess we weren't really needed after all, eh guys?

All right, Albert! This path'll take you straight to Janga. Head north!

Why can't you just give me a lift?

This level is very similar to the forced scrolling one in Borukta. Except instead of mines, the helicopter drops kamikaze Wanzers on you. Furthermore, the level waits for you to exit instead of ending automatically, so you can kill the chooper on your own time.

Doing so gives you a nice bonus.

Ok. That was a bunch of boring areas. The better stuff starts back up next time.
