Chapter 34.3: Alternate Endings
Once Gabriel smashes the Gedde idol, you've won the game. With no power source remaining to protect them from authorities, the cult has been destroyed for good. But that doesn't mean your involvement is over -- there's still one decision left to make, with dire consequences.

Malia hangs over the edge of the crumbling floor, barely hanging on for dear life. Gabriel sits halfway across the room, dazed, as the hounfour quakes around him.
He stares, disbelieving, at the scene in front of him. The woman he loves and the demon controlling her are wrestling for control, and unless he does something soon, both of them are going to die.
But what would happen if he saved Malia? Would Tetelo fade away, or would she always be there, a small, hateful part of her subconscious, waiting for the right moment to slit his throat and steal the talisman back? Could they ever truly live in peace?
Slowly, Gabriel climbs to his feet.
He walks over to where she hangs, making no move to help. He has to let it end.
Gabriel turns away and covers his face in shame.
Suddenly, Malia pulls out her whip and lashes it at Gabriel.
The whip tightens around his throat ...

Gabriel pulls out his dagger and dives to where Malia hangs.
He plunges the dagger deep into Malia's shoulder. Almost at once, the gravity of what he's just done hits him and he slowly climbs to his feet, horrified.
Gabriel turns away and covers his face in shame.
Suddenly, Malia pulls out her whip and lashes it at Gabriel.
The whip tightens around his throat ...
