Part 64: East Misty Forest 2

Welcome back! Time to hit the trail again, and get back to the End of the World.

Still lost in the woods.

Before running into any monsters, Justin remembers to equip an axe.

All but two of Sue's skills involve Puffy, and therefore can be used regardless of her equipped weapon. Just wanted to share that factoid.

Yeah, Puffy doesn't fuck around. Sue gains two levels at once from this, too.

96 XP for both bows and fire from one action. Dang.

Huh. A lake in the middle of a forest?

: Look, Justin! There's a river flowing through the lake!

: Huh? What's this all about?!

Hmm. There were no alternate paths back there. How do we cross this lake?

Oh, just Jesus our way on by. That's completely expected and logical.

Oh. Or that. That would also explain why we can't cross the river without the rock there.

Still, a decent way to spice up an otherwise boring dungeon.

> look area

You are in a twisty little maze of trees, all alike.

Eek, starting to get a little full up on items.

You know it's gotta be a good spell when the name's in all caps and ends in an exclamation point.

As you may have guessed by the name, BOOM! is an explosion-elemental spell.

Sue was so excited about learning BOOM! that she even gained a level.

At seven MP, BOOM! is one of the costlier level 1 spells.

Never have I been more upset that file names can't contain bangs.

And it does less damage overall in a smaller radius than Puffy Fire. Honestly, BOOM!, if you can't shape up, I don't need you in my life.

Mmm, more floor bread. (Baobab Fruit, if you were wondering).

+1 wit. Destined for the Stashing Place, for now.

"Hey, dipshit! Level up your weapons and elements and your spells and shit will do more damage and go off faster!"

: Oh my god, a giant rock!

Hmm. I dunno what Feena's pointing at. That giant-ass wall is in the way.

Okay, that's pretty impressive.

... Oh.

: Here at last! The End of the World! See, I told you! We did get here, didn't we?

: OK, you told me so.

: Now the question is, can we climb it?

: Yeah, can we? Just look how high it is! I can't see the top at all!

: Hey, what do you mean?! We've come this far, so enough with the doubts!

: We're determined to climb it! And, anyway...

: Nothing's impossible to an adventurer!

I do like how everyone is trying to have a conversation while simultaneously being distracted by the giant wall.

: Yeah, but... he's right. Sure. Let's go at it full force! We'll make it somehow!

Okay, I'll admit I'm cheating a bit here, screenshot-order-wise. After Feena's line there, you're sent directly to the first area of the End of the World, meaning that this shot of the world map is something most people don't see.

Plus, I wanted to backtrack to Luc Village and use the Stashing Place to dump some of the crap I'm holding.

And, uh... I kinda forgot to talk to this guy again during the big NPC Chatter roundup. Whoops!

: Even though it's broken in half, it's still the God of Light. Villagers visit that shrine, too. That's why the gate to the God of Light Mountain is usually open, just like the gate to the outside.

All right, no more screwing around. Time to go scale that wall!

... Next time. After all, it deserves its own update all to itself.

: Axe +1

: Bow +1, Fire +1, Earth +1

: Whip +1
