Part 4: Movie Characters

While not appearing in the game at all these are the characters that appear in the movie. They will be referenced by the game and myself so in case you're not familiar with them I decided to put some information in.

John Hammond, Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler

John Hammond is the CEO and founder of InGen and the creator of Jurassic Park. He invites world-renowned paleontologists Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler to give their seal of approval for the park to ease investors' concerns. He has two grand children, Tim and Lex Murphy, who are visiting for the park for the weekend.

Dr. Grant is a world-renowned paleontologist working with paleobotanist Dr. Sattler. The two of them are invited to Jurassic Park by John Hammond to give their seal of approval. Sattler stays with Gerry Harding when they come across a sick triceratops so she is not present in the tour vehicles when the Tyrannosaurus breaks loose. She has to go to the maintenance shed to turn the power back on when Ray Arnold does not come back. Grant and Sattler survive the raptor attack thanks to the same T. rex and make it off the island when Hammond shows up.

Ian Malcolm and Donald Gennaro

Donald Gennaro is the lawyer that represents the interests of Jurassic Park's investors who are not happy about being kept in the dark about the park. He forces Hammond to bring in outside opinions to sign off on the park or they'd shut him down. Gennaro brings along the chaotician Ian Malcolm. Both are present during the T. rex attack, although Gennaro gets scared and tries to hide in the restroom. When Malcolm tries to lure the rex away from the kids' car it smashes into the restroom, wounding Malcolm and eating Gennaro.

Malcolm is found by Sattler and Muldoon and because of his wounded leg is in the security bunker during the raptor attack. He makes it off the island with Hammond and the rest.

Tim and Lex Murphy

Tim and Alexis "Lex" Murphy are Hammond's grandchildren that are visiting him for the weekend. Unfortunately both are present during the rex attack and are left alone when Gennaro leaves the car. Understandably scared, Lex tries to frighten the Tyrannosaur off with a flashlight found in the car which only draws the attention of the creature. Both Grant and Malcolm try to draw it away but Malcolm is wounded leaving only Grant to help the kids.

Tim is stuck in the car as the rex crushes it and pushes it over a cliff in the enclosure leaving Grant and Lex to rappel down the side. Tim and Grant are almost crushed by the car as Grant tries to help Tim get down. The three of them are stuck in the jungle for the night but find some Brachiosaurs, one which sneezes on Lex. In the morning they come across a herd of Gallimimus which is attack by the Tyrannosaur, but they finally make it back to the Visitor's Center. Both Tim and Lex make it off the island after surviving the raptors with the help of Grant and Sattler.

Dennis Nedry, Robert Muldoon, Ray Arnold and Henry Wu

Dennis Nedry is the main computer programmer for Jurassic Park. Hired by BioSyn to steal dinosaur embryos, he is also the main cause for the catastrophic event that occurs. In order to steal the embryos without being caught he shuts off parts of the security system, including security fences surrounding some of the dinosaur enclosures. In the storm and his rush to hand off the embryos at the dock he gets turned around before driving down a hill only to get stuck. He is killed by a Dilophosaurus while trying to free his jeep.

Robert Muldoon is the Security Chief for the park and has much experience as a game warden in Africa. He hates the raptors and thinks they should all be killed. He is killed by the alpha Velociraptor, dubbed "The Big One", when he and Sattler go to check on Arnold.

John "Ray" Arnold is the Chief Engineer of Jurassic Park and does not get along with Nedry. After Nedry shut off the systems Arnold could not get it back online without him because of the virus. Hammond said to shut down and restart the entire system but Arnold was strongly against it not knowing if it would even come back on. Eventually they were forced to and not all the systems came back online but they had backup power. Ray Arnold went to the maintenance shed to turn everything back on but was killed by a raptor.

Henry Wu is the Chief Geneticist of Jurassic Park and only makes a short appearance in the movie. He is seen in the labs when a new Velociraptor is born. It is most likely he escaped the island on the boat.
