Part 138: Kero Fin

I had a sudden flash of insight and think we should offer to trade treasures with another clan. Maybe we can get something cool for something like the tiger eye necklace.
Our only treasure is Humakt's Sword, and I'm pretty sure I'd be lynched if I traded that away.

I should also note that the problem with diplomacy is that it primarily involves giving gifts to other clans. We could afford small gifts(probably of horses) to one or two people, but not enough to make a dent in our reputation. Our second best option is to do things like telling other clans about opportunities for cool stuff instead of taking them ourselves, but that relies on goon voting too much to be a reliable option.

Another impious chief to keep in the back of our minds.

Oh hey, we had those guys. Well, there goes 2 free weaponthanes.

Helganna the Knowing, a Lhankor Mhy devotee of your clan, describes a curious event that took place while your exploratory party visited Mount Kero Fin. There they encountered a number of wind spirits, who claim kinship with Orlanth, and with Orlanth's mother, the goddess Kero Fin. Some of them are called the Listening Winds; others are called the Seeing Winds. Helganna has now visited with these spirits, and suggests that the clan sacrifice to them and gain their favor.

-Forget the incident.
-Invite the spirits to inhabit a shrine at your temple.
-Recite to the spirits a poem you have composed in their honor.
-Sacrifice to these spirits.
-Tell another clan about this opportunity.

This could even be a chance to improve our relations with the Blackrock clan.

There is no more lasting gift than a great poem, which is remembered forever.

The amount we sacrifice will make no difference; these spirits have already made up their minds about us.

The goddess Kero Fin, of the snowy skirts, is mother to Orlanth and Yinkin.

Building a shrine might be costly, but then again the spirits might have valuable gifts to give us in return.

Building a shrine might be costly; so would a sacrifice.

These spirits can help us hear what our enemies are saying. They can watch our foes' movements from the air. They can give us wisdom.
