Part 10: Super Surprise Mini-Update Time!

Drox posted:

How many commands have useless-but-funny effects, the staple of text adventures? For instance, anything to do with Jareth. I'm curious about open and close Jareth especially.

Most stuff in this part gives you a "Nothing happens." or a "There's no (thing) here!" or a "You can't eat that", which is disappointing and not nearly as delightfully robust as the prologue text adventure section. Also, your options in the right menu change depending on where you're at, so you can't call Ludo or a firey in every area, just certain ones. Where we're at right now (The Knockers), there's only one special thing to screw with, and that's the knockers, so let's take a look at what we can do pretty much all the time in...

Super Surprise Mini-Update Time!

Even though Jareth isn't around, we can still interact with him somewhat. Here's how we can mess with him:

At least he's gracious? We can also always interact with the walls in a way that gets some funny responses:

Here's what happens if we try to call rocks without having called Ludo first:

And the nerd is always an option, even though there is only one possible instance where we'll need her (which will be covered next update). Most everything insists that there are no nerds around except this:

I wonder which movie she's watching!

And just for fun while we're here:

If I come across any more, I'll cover them. I generally completely forget to try for silly responses unless I'm first playing a game, which is how I discovered how to give myself a mashed potato face mask at the beginning. If there's anything you see that you want me to try that I don't think of, ask away, even if it's from a million updates ago! I want to show this game off as thoroughly as possible without being redundant.
