Chapter 12: Downstab takes on the palace that Lowtax (didn't really) built.

We had just arrived at the Ocean Palace, and Downstab is getting ready to take this place on like Donkey Kong.

Let's head down the elevator, and into the fray.

What in the world? Where am I? This isn't what I remembered it to be like...

Downstab, realizing that he is impervious to ground damage no matter how far he falls. He takes the chance and jumps off the ledge. On the way he sees a few things slightly familiar.

Oh shit...

Downstab lands on a platform! Where the hell is he? Looks similar to Mega Man. Better jump off again.

He lands on the surface! A giant mechanical dog is attacking him! He fights back.

Realizing he's not going anywhere to the left, he heads right, passing an army base.

He slowly scales the cliff.

Mario? No, can't be.

Downstab sneaks behind and finds an entrance!

He falls into a spa. Continuing on...

He takes on Mega Man's doppleganger.

He heads left, and realizing the dangers of fast food, he dispatches the threat.

Downstab casts jump here to head up to the second level.

Whoaaa... scary!

He heads left and walks into the middle of a gang war! Watch out, Batman!

Realizing this is totally not the right way, he turns around.

A plane? What kind of palace is this?

He takes this aptly place pipe to the lower level.

He falls into a river! Luckily a boat is there to catch him. He defeats the previous owner of it.

He continues right. Belmont is here too?

What the hell? He travels around them until...

He falls into a trap hole that leads him to the lower level. Onion kids? Can they swim?

He continues left. He's got a bridge to hop. Goonies are there to lead them.

He jumps across, but...

He falls to a lower floor again! He gears to attack, but realizes the thread is absent.

Hmm... these are pussy Final Fantasy spells. Moving on...

A little edge. He jumps for it. He proceeds to jump on the bricks.

From the bricks he makes the jump onto the falling tetriminos.

He continues to hop down the falling tetriminos.

He reaches the bottom. Feeling sorry for slaying them earlier in his adventure, Downstab helps the Light Warriors destroy the blob.

Whoa. We're in dangerous territory now.

Just avoid the dragon.

he stops by McDonalds for a little bit to fill up on his health.

He falls into a trap! He's falling through another really really hard game!

Oh HELL no.

Upon getting on the bikes, Downstab is immediately transported. He's greeted by an old friend, Popo.

Popo leads him out. Kid Icarus is soliciting for Jehova's Witnesses now.

According to Popo, if he destroys Mother Brain, he can leave this palace!

Mother Brain destroyed, he still exists. He moves on. Casting jump, he proceeds to the upper level.

Whoa. Hayabusa isn't happy.

The blob is dead Downstab decides to dig through the floor and head to the lower level.

There's a pipe. It's leading to something, but what?

A radiation room. Could this be the source of the power of the entire palace? Only one way to find out.

Don't ever try this at home...

Holy crap what's about to happen?

The ocean palace is completed!

Okay, some of you should recognize what I just posted. Yes, it's part of the NES goon base that never got finished. Slybo was awesome enough to send me what we had completed for use of this. I wanna give him thanks for that, as well as everyone that contributed to it, and I'm still saddened that it was never finished. Out of all the images I used, only one of them I had made.

Okay, if you're wondering if I actually did beat the Ocean Palace, well... I did. Not only that, I got a video of it on google video (why the update took so long, had to upload it and wait for google approval). I hope you enjoy my commentary, it's my first video let's play update, and probably my last because of how long it took. The audio gets un-synced a little in, but it's still watchable. Enjoy!

The Ocean Palace and me.
