War. War never changes. The romans waged wart to gather slaves and wealth. Spain built an empire from it's lust for gold and territory. Hitler shaped a battered Germany into an economic super power. But war never changes. In the 21st century, war was still waged over the resources that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of war were also it's weapons. Petroleum, and uranium. For these resources, China would invade Alaska, the US would annex Canada, and the European Commonwealth would dissolve into bickering, quarreling nation-states bent on controlling the last remaining resources on earth.

In 2077, the storm of World War had come again. In two brief hours, most of the planet was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of nuclear devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise. A few were able to reach the relative safety of the large underground Vaults. Your family was part of that group that entered Vault 13. Imprisoned safely behind a large vault door, under a mountain of stone, a generation has lived without knowledge of the outside world.

Life in the Vault is about to change.

Welcome to 'Let's Play Fallout'. It'll have a few simple rules, please follow them.

1) I have never played Fallout 1 before. When suggesting what to do, don't say, "Talk to Jenny and give her the statue of the kestrel that unlocks the 'awesome lollipops' discussion tree with Donny who then gives you directions to the Oasis Of Candyland, where you go and fight the Candytaur to loot some sweet power armor.". That's getting way too ahead. Instead, say something like, "Talk to Jenny! I hear she likes birds. And gives good head."

2) Please spoiler things if it needs spoilering. I know the game is nine years old, but a lot of us have yet to play it through.

3) Don't be a douchebag, please. It will upset me. And if I'm upset, I certainly wont be playing Fallout. But dont limit yourself to talking about just this play-through. Let's make this a good, clean Fallout discussion. Just remember your spoilers.

That's about it! Now. I need an idea for what to make this character. In the Interest Check thread, the idea of 'Smith' was thrown around. Everyone still like that?

This play through will be written diary-style, from the POV of the character. I hope I can make it interesting enough for everyone.
