Junker HQ - Shooting Range

Mika helpfully explains what a shooting range is for.

Er, what the hell does that mean?

ASK > ABOUT HARRY

ASK > ABOUT NAVIGATORS

Alright, enough jawing with Mika. Let's fucking take a shot at this bad boy!

PRACTICE

Kojima "Fourth-wall breaking count": 1

If you play Snatcher with Konami's Justifier (light gun), you have to put the controller down and fire with it. Like I said before, since combat in Snatcher occurs seamlessly, sometimes you have to literally drop the controller to grab the gun quickly. This really, really adds to the tensity of the game.

And again, as I mentioned earlier, I'm doing this with a Gens emulator - so how do you play this with a controller? Pressing A draws your blaster, and you're treated to a grid, like so:

For a relatively simplistic combat system, this actually works out well. If you want to aim to the left square in the grid, you hold down the keypad. Releasing it brings it back to center. This works great because if there's an enemy to the left and right, you don't have to do anything like "left, right, right". I've heard a few people mention that they had difficulty with emulating this game in this section, so I'll throw out the question:

Do earlier versions of Gens or anything not allow you to move diagonally or something?

Alright, so I posted video of it earlier, but now let's get a perfect score and...

Great, right? Actually, I just screwed myself over. Snatcher adjusts the difficulty of combat depending on how you do. If you're really good at combat, subsequent scenes get a lot harder.

And that about does it for the shooting range.

Where now, Junkers?
