Part 37: Extras - Farming Guide

Is this like THE place to grind money in this game? Because I had no idea if it was until I watched this video and my mind is now blown. This revelation makes playing Lost Planet 2 to unlock weapons a sane activity again thank you Dan.

It's funny you should ask, because yes! This is the single best place to farm credits--if you get good at it, and you do it a certain way, you can get about a hundred boxes in ten minutes. I've even made a little guide-y tutorial video about it for you! No, really, an actual one this time; I feel like I've gotta make up for tricking all of those one person on youtube with the moustache one.

Guess where I've been spending a lot of time recently?

What the hell were they talking about? Somehow I get the feeling that cutscene was translated from japanese to spanish to english. It's too bad they blew up the sand cruiser. I was hoping they would have an ever-expanding armada of warships.

Me too! Meeee too. NEVEC are real bad losers.

Ok so I think what happened (I'm not sure) is that there's a really stupidly big Akrid somewhere and if you kill it you get All The T-ENG, All Of It. Most normal people have figured out that one Akrid having All The T-ENG, All Of It would mean it's crazy dangerous, but the Treasure Barachos are crazy and also dangerous so they figure they can take it. Am I close?

Yes, that is approximately correct. I am not sure how they think they will kill the big akrid. I am not sure how they expect to kill all of NEVEC in order to get the energy out of it. I am not sure why they think driving towards the gigantic inexplicable laser-y thing in the distance is a good idea. This fits with the Borracho's motives as clearly defined in the introduction to the episode--"Trying to Steal the Overland Battleship, Act I"--where many of them are flattened by helicopters for no real reason at all.

They've got pretty much the same motives as NEVEC in that regard, to be honest; both of them want loads of energy. NEVEC understand that they'll totally break the planet in half doing it (somehow) and don't seem to care, whereas the Borrachos see shiny treasure. It'll totally get cleared up soon, believe me.

I think he meant were moving on to the last episode.

Yeah, sorry, I did. It doesn't make much more sense considering that, though.

Speaking of the Last Episode, please do try to run into the Treasure Barrachos again.  Don't let it end this way.

EDITed because I feel this should be upgraded with a swanky black spoiler bar, even if it's not really necessary.

I'll be thorough, don't worry, but let's be hush-hush about the nature of the last episode! It's a particularly cool series of things that I'd really like to be an endless barrage of mega-surprises. I mean, we all know that the Treasure Borrachos now kill the final boss with their bare hands, pulling out globs of T-ENG and selling it on to the highest bidder immediately as NEVEC looks on upset and the Jungle Pirates set up another jungle right there in an attempt just to be seen in the game again whatsoever but that's nothing

Why does this game keep pretending it has a plot? We all know it's about silly men in silly hats having one hell of a party.

Even so, I'm not ready to say goodbye to these silly hat men yet. And what about Oleg? Is he gonna be unemployed after this?

I'm sorry, but everybody has to let go of funny accents eventually! You can't be drunken bandits forever!

Don't worry about Little Oleg, though, he's gonna be totally fine after the LP--I've already got offers coming in left right and centre for him and for appearances opening supermarkets, performing at corporate functions, etc. He's doing much better than me, in fact; not even Tesco have asked me to host their national "Who's the Best At Being a Supermarket Award (Probably Tesco)" awards ceremony this year, which is weird...

If I find out Little Oleg is hosting if there's gonna be hell to pay

Holy shit - that C64 intro was awesome. So many memories

I'm glad you liked it! To be honest, it was sort-of fake nostalgia for me, as I was so young the last time I saw one that I can't remember a single damn thing about one. My dad used to have a C64 that lived in the attic (and had been living there for years) that he dragged out a couple of times when I was tiny to try and impress me with. It worked, though, because for some reason the name "Cloud Kingdoms" has been lodged in my head for years under the term "an okay game" even though I have no idea what happens in it and I don't remember what it looks like.

I downloaded a C64 emulator and wrote a real BASIC program for it! And we found a real C64 voice synthesiser program and everything! Dedication to accuracy, other than all of the graphics.
