As much as I love Lord Foomy and his bubbly works, I'm thinking it's Char's time to shine. He's been passed over far too much by Foomy, and cherub-ass.

Too late, I used foomy. Although, most of the enemies were weak to fire, but. . . then again, Selan's fireball killed them all so whatever.

So now that I rescued my baby, I can continue on. Hey wait where am I going anyway?

What's this, NPC's giving good information?! What the hell is wrong with this game?!

Oh yeah this shrine here.

I'm not sure what these guys would have said to stop me before, but probably something like "hey why aren't you stopping Gades?!"

Oh shit it's like they were waiting for us or something

Hey Maxim!

Where are you two going?!

Guy! Dekar! Sora! Donald! Goofy!

Were you two just going to go off without saying a word to us?! I thought we were a team!

Did you really think we wouldn't notice an enemy bigger than Gades making a move?!

Let me tell you, I'm not going for you; there's someone I need to protect, too.

I heard you still haven't married that someone you're supposed to protect. Talk about slow!

Ha! What do you know about love anyway! You don't even HAVE a girlfriend! Sorry, MY GIRLFRIEND and I are going to go make out, because she's hot and likes me and you don't even have one HA!

My love is my sword!

oh you guys. Well anyway they're back with me now

As in rejoin.

So I'm in a new area and new area means new enemies!

Torrents pls

Ew that's gross. Actually that's probably the name of a flower or something, who knows. Then again, not all flesh is that color okay we live in politically correct world.

The gray one is an Armor Bee. Not really very interesting. . . although they are really fast. That's about it.

Here's this port town place.

This is the home port of ships headed for the Ustark Continent. WIthout Ships, no one can cross. But when Jyad returns from the north mountain, he can make a ship. He's a genius.

Alright apparently I have to rescue this guy to have him build a ship and. . . hey wait haven't I done this before?

Hmmm sounds familiar. . . hmm. . .

Ahahaha yes, soon, very soon I will be at the ancient cave. And by soon, I mean by the end of this update. JUST YOU WATCH!

And lastly, this girl fills in a huge plot hole:

You see, that explains why I can't go to the places from Lufia I. Lufia 3 takes place in Southland and if there was a Lufia 4 I guess it would take place in Northland as well.

New spells, including Stronger which is always good, and Rally which is like reviveif you remember. Yay!

Huh, this is north mountain. I wonder if dragons live here?

Is everything "phantom something" in this land? Phantom fish, phantom tree, what's next? Phantom Terrorists threatening to blow up things with ghostly bombs!

I can chop down this grass, but you see, it's special grass. If I take a step

It grows back. I have to chop all three to open the door.

Of course, I can always just blow them all up at once and save myself the trouble.

hitting this switch made that ladder appear, so I guess I'll find my way back over there.

I love the design of this place, it has this abandoned mine feel to it. The graphics in this game rock.

After going in and blowing through a wall, I ended up outside with this key. It's all sticky and covered in sap, ew!

See those little patches of grass over to the left? When you step on them, the grass grows big. You have to step on every patch of grass and make the full thing big to continue. Can you figure it out? It took me a little while. Also not that you have to step on AND off a space to make it grow, so you can't get stuck somewhere in the middle.

This takes three moves, the first being starting from the left side, you have to weave around inside to do this:

And then you can just step on the last two ones no problem. It took me a few minutes but I was able to conquer it.

Be careful not to burn yourself!

Burn grass instead! Note that shooting an enemy with this does nothing different than shooting them with an arrow. The only difference is:

Fire Arrows are way sweeter.

They're mad because the translator fucked up their name.

There's not a door behind that vine. Honest!

There's this block pushing puzzle but it becomes a cinch with our new flaming arrows of awesomeness!

That creates a ladder, so now I can

push those blocks again to create another ladder! Here's how this puzzle works:

You need to move those jars onto the two switches in order to lower the spikes in front of the door. The problem is, when you step on a panal, it becomes cracked, and then if you step on it again, you fall through. UH OH!

Okay I'm going to attempt to grab the left one and put it up there. Which was a bad idea because

I fell through the floor

Into a den of monsters! There's a chest here that I, uh, missed, I shold probably go and get that. It's a Water Ring, increases damage of water spells, kind of dumb but whatever.

If I grab the right one first, I'm able to put them like this

And then use my magical turning in place powers to put the other one up here too

Ta dah now I can continue on!

I was going to complain about this, but I mean this is like a natural cave of sorts, so I guess having a lot of bombable walls makes sense.

After hooking my way over some gaps. . .

Lizard shaman type enemies. They're weak and slow, not a problem.

The classic game of "get the lizard to step on the switch then stun it so you can cross the gap by hooking onto the post that was raised by the switch." My mom loved this game as a kid.

It's purdy

I gotta blow open this door and oh hey look

A tree. Must be the phantom tree. Doesn't look like a ghost to me!

Uh oh I'd better do what it says. NOT!

Wheee this is fun

Oh hey look now I can continue on and find

A locked door which means!

Heck yes!

Yeah, that's me.

All the ships were sunk and we need you to make one.

What?! Well good thing cause I came to this mountain to get the Phantom Tree, which is incredibly light and sturdy. But there are monsters in the way so I can't get to it!

Monsters you say?! I will stab them in the face in the name of Foomy for you, then you can get your tree.

Sweet.

Slightly paraphrased.

Lions?! Seriously?!

Ahahaha this is so lame. Why are they on this mountain, they don't look like mountain lions! They also drop lion rocks sometimes, I think, who cares. I'm pretty sure I fight them as normal enemies later so whatever.

Dekar just threw them in a proverbial pool filled with sharks.

Shit that's a ton of exp holy crap. AWESOME!

Okay finally at the tree.

Now there is a stupid dialogue with all them about warping and this is Jyad's first time or some shit and it makes him feel sick to him stomach. Then Dekar is like "I love warping wheee" It's really dumb let's just leave it at:

So guy and Dekar run off to the Pub and try to get laid, and Selan and Maxim stay at the inn. The inn is only 10 gold here for a reason, you have to stay there twice to advance the story.

Margos is the name of his ship. The Dekar and Guy show up and Guy mentions how Dekar got shot down. . . this is all non plot stuff who cares the whole point of this is:

Oh yes

OH HELL YES! LET'S DO THIS!

GO GO GO!

GO YES GO GO GO!!!

Hey so yeah, I made a video of myself doing my first ancient cave attempt! It hasn't finished uploading, but when it does, I'll post again with the video. It's about an hour but I mean you can just skip around, it's mostly just me rambling, I get to around the 20th floor and find the item that let's me leave and go. Well, I'll post again with the video.

EDIT: Filefront says two more hours for the upload, it's like 300mb so yeah. Don't expect it right away.
