Lufia: The Legend Returns

by Blackbelt Bobman

Part 4

The first section of the Tower of Death is only three floors, so I made a video of myself going up it, and then took screenshots of the return journey. Of course the return was completely different, considering the floors are random, so there are several things in the screenshots that aren't in the video and vice versa. For starters, here's the video, it's only like 9 minutes:

And here is the return trip:

Often you'll see these funky things on the walls of dungeons. A quick swing of your sword (or a wave) will reveal if there's anything behind it.

In this case there was a small room containing one chest hidden in the wall.

Bolt attack is an IP skill that is a 1.5x power lightning elemental attack. It's pretty damn good, although I had to jack Wain's SF to 8 to be able to learn it.

Sometimes you'll slash a wall to reveal a corridor leading to a room with four chests, like this. Those rooms never have hidden chests in grass or paths in their walls, but they can have traps.

Head Crush deals 1/8 HP damage. Pretty good for big bosses.

Cats eye is an item that makes you immune to traps for a floor. While mostly useless in normal dungeons, these are lifesavers in the Ancient Cave.

We can't stop here! This is bat country!

These early enemies aren't really tough.

Here's a map of a random floor. These are useful for finding the stairs when you feel you've completed the floor.

And finally, the most important item for dispatching a sinistral early, hi bombs. I'll need 7-8 or so of them to defeat Gades in the first fight. Unfortunately, they are rare (it's a miracle I found three in this run) so it will take a while. Who knows when I'll be prepared to fight Gades?

okay next update will be another screenshot/video hybrid, but that will be the last for a while. It'll be a totally sweet video though.
