So I just noticed something in the OP.

"From the original creators of Lunar: Silver Star"?

Please, please, please please please PLEASE tell me that is the most blatant lie ever. I don't know if I could go on, knowing that anyone on the original Lunar dev team would let themselves have anything to do with this monstrosity.

Skimming Lunar net, the executive producer Youichi Miyaji, and the character designer Toshiyuki Kubooka, seem to be the only creators that fit the bill. (I can tell you for a fact the original composer, Noriyuki Iwadare, didn't work on it.)

It's the equivalent of putting "From the Producers of [Amazing Movie]" on the commercial.
It was a way to imply working with talented people and creating a quality product without the talented people. The fans weren't there a long time, but the fans never saw Youichi Miyaji or Toshiyuki Kubooka.

Also, Lunar-Net is the official site for Lunar: Dragon Song (kill me) so it has the most info on the godawful game. Everyone at these meetings with Ubisoft were from Lunar-Net.

Just keep on posting man.

Love hearing these insider stories.

Right, so, I want to impress on you that the fan consultants never played any part of the game. They did no play testing. When I had their ear, I offered to as I have some experience play testing and beta testing several products. But I cannot express how reluctant they seemed to be to let anyone see the game in action. Perhaps it was worries about competition or stuff being leaked... I mean it could have been any number of reasons but I like to think they knew the game was terrible.

When approached with the information on the fact that, at some point in the game, Jian gets cursed, it was brought to us with excitement. It was called a "Curse of Lost Equilibrium" then too. So what the fans knew was what it was called, and where it happened (at the coliseum.) It sounds pretty fucking stupid, IMO because in Lunar: The Silver Star and Lunar: Eternal Blue some enemies had abilities which could paralyze you, but it was just paralysis. Why does this curse had such a unique and stupid name? I guess it was just a translation thing? There was no way to fix this, the fans had no context for the curse.

It's awful.
