And with this update, we're done with the game!I'm also using this post to show of the glorious banner that Signal Interrupt made for usage on my blip account. He's not a forums member, but we'll forgive him for being awesome.
One thing you couldn't really tell because I took out the sounds: Depending on your timing when escaping from a pit with the cheat, you can have the death noise play and still fly up like nothing happened. This will mute the music, though, like with the Proto Man glitch. Another thing that's for TAS runs, if you collide with a spike right as the screen scrolls downwards (in Doc Spark for example), then the death noise will also play, but Mega will live on.

The real trick with the animation-freezing controller cheat (I think up+A or B maybe stops things completely?) is that it also works on bosses, and you can still fire your weapon! You both stand there, frozen, and you can fire your buster at the boss until he dies (this is how I would always do it as a kid, until I actually learned how to play the game properly).
The trick to invincibility is, when you're in the pit, let go of right on controller 2 and die, and start holding right again after all your health disappears, but before the screen fades out. After that, jump out and you'll run around with no health left, and you won't die no matter how many more hits you take.
