Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue

Part 69: 6th Star Obtained.

: Yo bitch, get the fuck off my shit!

At least Mettaurs make more sense for GutsMan.

If you let the Mettaur live, you might take some hits. But why would you do that?

As sad as this might seem, a Mettaur Omega would actually this formation more challenging.

What do Fishy Omegas even do, anyway? Aside from just fly down your row really fast.

GutsMan Omega is actually a decent step up from his Beta counterpart. Sporting a lot more HP, his attacks auto-remove your Mole defense! You can see that in the video, but what you might not notice is that whenever the screen shakes, your input is delayed quite significantly. Dex took lessons.

That being said, E-code is probably considered to be one of, if not, THE best code in the game by a lot of people. You have the 500Barr Program Advance, combined with Mole chips and Sanctuary(1,000 HP Barrier). If you combine the Mole chip with any Barrier, chips like NorthWind won't remove your Barrier. This doesn't even factor in the offensive options: Sensor3, NoBeam2, Metagel2, VarSword, KillerEye Virus Chip, BubSpread PA. Throw in a GaiaSword and Mine's and you're killing everything. Just give E-Code a try in your next playthrough.

This is a very popular setup when you use E-Code. You have BreakBuster, FloatShoes, AirShoes, Custom+2(+3 with Custom Style), SuperArmor, MegFldr1, UndrSht, ShadowShoes, BreakCharge BustrMax and Shield of course.

120 damage for a GigaChip? WHO WOULD USE THIS

Someone without any fucks to give, I assume.

Heh, you see that? I jacked in and showed her my LongSword.

No. First off, of all the sword-dick jokes, you went with LongSword and not VarSword? Hell, LifeSword would have worked pretty well. Second, just no.

While this looks annoying because you'll never escape the line of fire. If you space out your dodges well, you should never get touched. These are only Canodumbs, people.

Emphasis on 'dumb', of course

Oh look, an actually decent virus combo. The Wind Omega will pull you in, not push you like the Level 1 version.

Pathetic. I want to point out that a late-story chapter had a harder version of this.

See? White Version exclusive, but there were 3 Yorts! No excuse, game.

And the encounter is broken. In fact, the White Version encounter put a Yort in the back so you couldn't do that! PLS

I like to call this one: King's Guillotine. Essentially, if your HP is higher than theirs at any point, just use Balance(can be gotten from fighting another human player under certain conditions) to half their HP, then immediately follow up with Muramasa. Muramasa's damage is dependent on the amount of HP you lost, so it's pretty much an instant-win, provided Muramasa isn't blocked. Balance, however, can't be stopped by anything. You're taking damage, period.

I'd give you shit on the name, but it's actually pretty good. If only you used it on KingMan for the extra layer of joke.

We need more Omegas in random computers, apparently.

SWORDYZ

This encounter needs a support virus until the Swordys use their AreaGrab.

Like that? Why did you remove a Swordy?

Oh, interesting. N.O-Omega pretty much requires damage of 300 to kill it, unless you're really fast with your attacks.

Hmm, I have something different in mind for you.

Looks like the King is gonna Castle for now.

Haha, chess jokes.

We can find 2 Omega bosses in here.

See, PlantMan? Puffball isn't alone here!

The Totem isn't actually doing very much. Just make him turn around and he's useless.

Or throw a blackbomb on him when the Puffball makes himself vulnerable.

I don't know why, but I found this funny. Just stand in one of the back 2 corners of the field, and you can't be touched.

GASP! Wait, a White Version boss in Blue Version? Yes, MistMan's data is in the game. And BowlMan's data is in White Version!

Say WHAT?

In Japan, White Version (which was Vanilla BN3)came first, and Blue (which was called Black) came out a few months later. My guess is you couldn't complete your Library in EXE3 (normal) until Black version came out a few months later. If that's true, then dick move.

Moving onto the other side of the same computer, we have BowlMan's fights.

I am confused as to how this makes sense for BowlMan.

Didn't have anything that thematically fit except for the HardHead huh?

Oh, I forgot to put on the N1 Grand Prix theme. ABANDON THE LP

This is a fun little strategy, but if you 11th Chip Glitch Folderbak, you can essentially recycle your folder infinitely. I use this for the Program Advance: MomQuake. AreaGrab to set yourself up, then use MomQuake. Use Folderbak and activate MomQuake again. Use Folderbak and activate MomQuake again. Use Folderbak and activate MomQuake again, ad infinitum. It's worth noting that the rocks don't cause mercy frames to activate, so if you fight a cheater with 9,999 HP like I did, you'll win without them being able to move. If your opponent gets hit by 1 single, solitary rock, and they have only 1 column to themselves, it's Game Over.

Abusing strats for fun and profit! Remember, kids, only cheat like a little bitch if you won't get caught!

Hades Isle, huh? It's obviously ProtoMan.

Yeah, ProtoMan's chip absolutely destroys these.

Of course we needed Swordys for this boss, but why not 3?

This is the second time we have a formation of Fishys. I think they were out of ideas.

Adapted from the GameFAQs folder by the same name.

I just want to point out that ProtoMan Omega's attacks do 300 each. This folder build is so broken. It focuses solely on pulling out 2xHero -- my favorite Program Advance in the series. Stick in 4 Slashers, 4 CustSwrd, 4 VarSwords and 1 of each ProtoMan chip, FullCust and Folderbak. Splash in some defense and you have yourself a pretty stupid folder. Starting in Battle Network 5, they limited the amount of Program Advances you could pull off to 1 per type, per battle. So, 1 2xHero per battle, 1 LifeSword per battle, 1 GigaCannon per battle, etc.

Y'know, I'm starting to run out of things to say. I mean, we already beat these guys once before, Giver's just showing off at this point, so on and so forth...

DarkMan Omega's ghost was behind the monolith that blocked Geddon 3.

It's not like it's our first time meeting Shadow Omega, game. Why do you bother putting only 1!?

The Dominerd will block frontal assaults against the KillerEyes, but it won't use Geddon until it's the only thing left. You can literally stand in the middle row and be safe for the rest of the match.

Hurf durf positioning.

What's this? An actual virus combo? Dominerd will block stuff like ProtoMan, so that's out. You'll have to wait until the Shadow wants to attack before using your swords. Then, once you knock that out, Dominerd will use Geddon.

Now you too can be the star of your very own Slasher movie!

(this is an unsubtle and unfunny way of saying 'use slasherrrrr')

Adapted from the GameFAQs folder by the same name.

I've never really shown off GaiaSword too much, though I believe it's potential has been mentioned. Now you can see it for yourself. This is a folder that's designed around it, coupled with some VarSwords for extra damage. You can either make the EverCurse PA with the CrsShld chips, or you can sacrifice them to power up GaiaSword. This folder's biggest weakness is AntiSword, of course.

And of course RisingSunMan Omega's ghost is on that island in Area 2 where we got AntiNavi M.

So if you let them both use PanelGrab, you're trapped. But one obstacle in the middle row will prevent them from doing that. They only have 1 PanlGrab anyway.

Or, you could just tank the hit. It's only 10 damage anyway.

This is potentially threatening. You have PanlGrabs from Boomer, AreaGrabs from Swordy and the BrushMan filling up his area with HolyPanels. Ignore the BrushMan and focus on the Swordy. Then you win.

All you need to do is add a Trumpy Omega, and this fight could be a threat. PLS

Isn't this the third or fourth fight with two Swordy Omegas? Please, Capcom, at least be creative with your lackluster virus battles.

I couldn't think of much else to put in, so I decided to show off a "camping strategy". Sit in the back with AntiSwrd, let Sensor do the work, and pelt the enemy with Elemental Shockwave. We also have a new Program Advance in the video -- PrixPowr. It requires one of 3 GigaChips: KingManV5, BowlManV5, MistManV5 and Team1 * or Team2 *. It's kinda cool how we're still seeing new Program Advances and stuff outside of just new bosses. All about that game feel.

But it can potentially deal 900-1,200 damage. If you manage to land the KingMan attack, and if you get 3 MistMan's to hit an opponent, that is.

That's the last video for this update, but we still have 2 more bosses to cover. I'll be handling the last two in a different way.

DEMONSPAWN. Dealing 200 damage shouldn't be very demanding at this stage of the game.

I'm sorry, I'm too busy having BassBS flashbacks.

These fucks. I've said that their regen is fast, but once they give out hugs, your area gets locked down pretty hard. I hope you drew your powerful chips early.

Did someone want hugs and lasers? I think someone wants hugs and lasers. This one might be a little tough if you aren't prepared to deal high damage in quick bursts.

Serenade Omega only does 150 per hit (the normal version only deals 100), so just use a LifeAura.

Yes, yes, 4 Serenade Omegas might be fun, but I'm doing something different.

Time for the man himself.

It's sad when Serenade has stronger viruses than Bass.

REAL sad.

Oh, I guess they just want to go through the Scuttlist family one last time.

So Bass Omega's AI is actually pretty garbage. Here's what they did: they removed his ability to use AirBurst. You know, the single shot he does at times? So what this boils down to is:

MoveThatRegensAura--MoveThatRegensAura--MoveThatRegensAura--MoveThatRegensAura--MoveThatRegensAura--MoveThatRegensAura

This...can be aggravating. You'll need to constantly have a move ready to stop his Aura regen. Or just, you know, put down a Rook, then put down the Poison Pharoah PA behind it. Win.

...Huh. I thought he'd be more threatening than that, really.

Nope, still no video. Just be patient.

And the 6th star (red) is ours. Killing all the Omega Navis grants this star. Just one more and we're done, guys. Almost there.

Ugh, about time.
