Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue

Part 77: BURN, BURN, BURN TO THE GROUND!

Overview: PlantMan is even worse than MetalMan. With a severe allergy to Fire, he can be the first boss you choose to begin your S-ranking cycle of destruction. Funny how the two Navis you're supposed to start S-ranking from also have the most broken NaviChip series in the game/series. The ONLY thing that can mess you up is his LeafShield, which will even absorb fire-elemental damage. He brings this up after using the flowers, or his vines. Just hit it with a buster shot, or a weak move. PlantMan will jump to your row and attack 3 times before switching to one of the two attacks I mentioned. Since that attack is in your row, it's perfect to counter with shields. His attack where he summons the vines is slow and easily stopped -- just make PlantMan flinch. A fucking joke.

Field:

G = Grass
// = space between the fields

Top Tier

: Obvious.

: Works perfectly to mess with his AI. Attacks only straight, so as to preserve grass panels, and deals great damage.

: Suddenly, your entire fire arsenal can hit four times their original damage. If that isn't cost-effective, I don't know what is.

: GeneralYeti showed off the Disco Inferno strategy (HeatSpread+Prism), so these are only top tier if you're relying on that, otherwise, you're better off with other things.

: If you're already following the tiers, then this should already be highly worth considering.

: With proper use, you could get multiple hits out of Totems2 and 3, increasing the value of the chip! Use it, move to another row, then move BACK to the row you used it on. Easy second hit.

: OH BABYCAKES, PLEASE! YOU'RE TOO MUCH!

: Death combo~!

High-Average Tier

:PlantMan loves to line himself up vertically, so use these to punish that.

: Oh my god the damage

: Great, but keep in mind you're cutting off a huge amount of DPS for your other fire chips by burning all the grass.

: It's okay, but only put this in if you don't have anything else.

: Really needs another chip to be at its best, and will destroy all of the grass panels. However, due to a special BN3-exclusive mechanic(see video), this gets raised up to this tier.

: Can actually protect you from PlantMan's thorns!

: Due to PlantMan's AI, these are perfect for laying the smackdown on him.

Suck Tier

: You're kidding me, right?

: Don't you want something more reliable?

: Clears the entire field of grass panels. Why would you do that?

: Contrary to popular belief, lighting this chip via a fire move does NOT mean this attack turns into a fire element. Use it for filler, really.

Abuses LifeSword Tier

: BLOW ME AWAY!!!!

: WILL THIS CHIP STOP HIS GRASS PANEL HEALING!???????????????

: Absolutely retarded. Does not let you deal damage fast enough in any way, shape, or form.

: You just screwed yourself because his vines can still hit you.

Pretty straightforward. You could literally throw in all of your fire chips and come out on top. Don't have a lot of chip codes? Just throw in 4 Magnum1, 4 Magnum2, and 4 Magnum3. Game.
