Original Thread: Colonel, what's an LP doing here?!? Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes [VLP]

Introduction

Welcome to the world of Tactical Espionage Action with the game that didn't start any of it at all, but was a remake of an immensely popular game that followed up a game that lots of jerks spent many an hour cursing at on both the NES and the MSX respectively. As you know, Mahnkiman did an excellent LP of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (found in the archives here, excuse the google videos, it was back in the day.) And Chip Cheezum is doing his own Metal Gear Solid 3 thread over here . Enough plugging other people's threads though, this is an RChimpCola edition of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes.

Some interesting notes about the Twin Snakes. It was made for the Gamecube in joint collaboration between Konami and Sillicon Knights(The makers of Eternal Darkness) and the cutscenes are over-the-top courtesy of the direction of japanese action filmmaker Ryuhei Kitamura. He made a movie with kind of awesome fight scenes but an incomprehensible plot called Versus. It wasn't a great movie, but it was fun to watch. If you groan at the thought of Solid Snake backflipping off a missile fired by a Hind-D, there's nothing I can do about that except try and show off some broken parts of the engine. Major changes from the original PSX version include

-First Person View
-Being able to aim and move at the same time
-Hanging off ledges
-Shooting out cameras
-LOCKERS!
-Extremely sterotypical chinese, russian, and british accents subdued
-Yoshi
-Non-Lethal Takedowns.

So, now that we've gotten all that out of the way lets get stealthy. As usual I will be joined for the majority of the LP by Ladderface and Sinatrapod though I may get other guests as I see fit. Sit down, strap in, and wait patiently for guards to move past you. It's Tactical Espionage action time!
