Part 84: Ep. 58: Skulls Are A Valid Decorative Motif

---

: Last time on MySims Agents: There's a secret passage behind the fireplace in the crystal room! That is so cool.

---

The rotating fireplace dumps Sam into a secret passage! (And does not actually burn his trousers off.) It's all pretty functional-looking back here, and also extremely planar, which means--you got it--another 2D platforming section.

Sam heads down from the entrance and promptly finds these. I... what. What. Cyrus was a pretty metal old dude!

Anyway, it's back up for us! I just love all these goofy jumping poses.

Sam jumps along crates and shelves and cinderblocks and assorted crazy shit all the way to the top left-hand side of this section, just above the entrance, and pauses for a well-earned sarcasm break.

Then up and over these boxes to our first fenergy vent.

Unlike other 2D sections, the F-space action in this one is all very up close and personal and is that a skull faded into the back wall? How did I never see that before?

Anyway, shifting that pile of books lets us go all the way to the right-hand side of the section, where Sam pulls out a measuring tape to measure the age of this boiler. Or something. That's some tape.

Then he jumps back up to this second fenergy vent and uses it to shift the cardboard box out of his way.

Sam jumps down into this little dead-end-like room with both a shadow skull on the wall and a real-deal skull on the shelves. Oh, and a fenergy vent.

He picks up this thick trapdoor-like object and moves it to the convenient shelf above.

Jumping through the hole he just made brings him to ground level.

Skulls!

A door! Is the platforming over already?

Of course not!

Down the stairs to a fenergy vent, building stairs out of crates and books, you know the drill.

Back and forth up these alternating ledges--

--move the shelf above our heads to make the next ledge--

--and pause on our brand-new ledge to hear some good news! Woo hoo! We'll check in with Jenny when we're not hot on the trail of... somebody.

Then it's on to a nearby fenergy vent to move this box down so that we can get up.

Up and over! ... aw, the little sign has a fat cow's face on it.

Continuing to build our way up and over to the right.

As we reach the right-hand side of this area, Sam finds some notes taped to the wall. Some intriguing notes.

Just below those, a collapsed shaft.

And a level or two down from there, a mysterious trunk.

Sam busts out the Techno-Tool and gets to work.

Gasp! Invisible fortunite crystals! Dastardly!

Sam pulls out his trusty phone. Good to see he gets reception back here.

: Roxie, can you analyze these crystals? I want to know if they're real fortunite.

He waves his glowing pink phone over the crate, and...

GASP!

Sam says goodbye to Roxie, hangs up, and updates his notes.

: All the crystals in the trunk are fakes. But what about the broken one in the crystal room? Could that have been a fake, too?

GAAAAAASP!

Looking in the trunk again:

: It is filled with fake fortunite crystals.

Thanks, Sam. Let's motor.

We've always been able to rotate objects with the F-Space Manipulator while decorating HQ, but now the game requires us to do it to proceed. Sam flips the stairs around and puts them down below.

Which drops him down by... another fireplace!

He rides the new fireplace around...

... and pops out in the dining room! GASP or not, whatever works for you.

: Next time on MySims Agents: The broken fortunite crystal, the one that caused all this trouble--could it be that it was never a real fortunite crystal at all?
