Part 25: Let's Really Break Mystic Quest! with 13/f/cali - Part 3

Finally took the time to get some new content on my weird runthrough prepared. Hope you enjoy!

As you can see here, the Sand Coin has been illegitimately pilfered from its chest and Benjamin has failed to save the crystal of Earth. That isn't our problem because we only need the Sand Coin to continue on in the game. Oh, but we do need to go take care of Kaeli don't we? Since I called Tristam out on his bullshit he had no choice but to give me the Elixir.

Yeah, things still suck in Foresta since I didn't save the world. Whoops. I healed Kaeli and now it's time to move on. As you can see I still have Tristam with me. He probably doesn't want to be here but that's just tough cookies for him because he's coming to Aquaria with us.

Not pictured: Me running through Focus Tower and getting the fire spell before emerging in the snowy land of...

Oh dear. Looks like not saving the world is having consequences beyond Foresta.

That's not gonna happen. Sorry Phoebe! With that, Phoebe joins in a perfectly normal fashion which boots Tristam away without so much as a goodbye. We go to Phoebe's house and she tells me we need the Libra Crest and that it's in the Boring Cave or something. Fortunately at that very moment a spare Libra Crest fell from the sky and struck Benjamin on the head.

Benjamin has a conversation with himself at the Life Temple and then gives himself the Wakewater. With that settled we go on to Fa-

Wait no explain that what did you just do?

Okay, that was a result of getting the Wakewater and then cheating it out of my inventory to show that if somehow you lost the Wakewater (really convenient save corruption?) you can step on this square again and the cutscene will play out just the same except this time the old man is gone.

Phoebe: Let's push this out of our way.

Benjamin takes this to mean the entirety of Falls Basin and just ignores it by editing his position to be right next to the door. I didn't have to fight the boss but the downside is that I didn't get the Heal spell. Fortunately things I miss or ignore have a tendency to just end up in Benjamin's inventory somehow.

Fun fact about the Ice Pyramid: If you go defeat the Ice Golem without "chasing" him first, nothing special happens. The previous rooms he's supposed to be in he just disappears from. Speaking of the Ice Golem, we're not gonna fight him, but remember how the previous Vile One was empty inside? Is the Ice Golem empty too?

Nope, apparently what happens is:

What the hell just happened?

Let's take the River Coin and get out of here!

Benjamin eloquently persuades the Ice Golem to allow him to climb onto his shoulder and take the River Coin without a fight in exchange for not saving Aquaria. Phoebe is pissed, but perhaps she'll feel better by next time when she joins us for part of our trip to Fireburg.

Next time: Nice to meet you, Reuben. GIMME THAT!

Also perhaps in between updates I should try to learn to take better quality screenshots. Ewww. Sorry about that guys!
